David was awesome! Great tour to Sintra and Cascais amongst other sights. David really knows the area, is a joy to be with, and is very funny and witty! Highly recommend booking with him!

David Monteiro (What To Do In Portugal travel guide agency) is an exceptional guide. We went on a 5 hr guided tour of Lisbon with him. He is a native, has 12 years of experience, studied to become a certified travel guide and it shows. After making the reservation David contacted me several times including the day before the tour to confirm the arrangements. He provided a very personal tour taking us to several sights we weren’t aware of that gave us a much richer experience of Lisbon. And he didn’t just drive us around. Whenever we left the car to walk he accompanied us and continued to share his insights. He was very knowledgeable about both the history and the current culture of Lisbon and Portugal. He is energetic, personable, and was solicitous and accommodating of all our interests and needs; very customer focused. He is exactly the kind of guide we were hoping for.

Our tour guide, David, could not have been better. He spoke excellent English and became instant friends with everyone in our group. He made good use of our available time and took us to all of the highlights in this beautiful city. David was very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful introduction to Portugal. He exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely use him again.

Nuno went above and beyond and we had a great half day in Lisbon. He gave us tips of what to do on our own and taught us a ton about the city.

David instantly reached out to us upon booking making us feel instantly that he was very detailed with our tour and making it special. David is very easy to talk to and he was a very safe driver. We were very comfortable the entire time with him. If you have limited time in Lisbon, hire David to show you the highlights of Lisbon! You won’t regret.

Rui was an excellent guide, letting us do more of a panoramic tour and not pushing us to go out and walk a lot as we were tired from an all-day trip to Fatima the day before. The highlight was he went out of his way to buy us Portuguese favorite custard pies.. They were delicious!

We arrived in Portugal in the morning and had booked our Lisbon Half Day Tour with David Monteiro. On our way to the airport to catch our flight to Lisbon we had a message from David that he had been in the ER all night, he was doing better but could not take us on our tour. Which we totally understood. What we didn't expect was for David to make arrangements for Pedro, another tour guide to take us on the tour. We were completely blown away that he would do this while he was in the ER!! This gesture makes David the Tour Guide EXTRODINAIRE!! Not only did he have Pedro take us, David went over the itinerary we had planned with Pedro. I was very impressed that Pedro knew exactly where to take us and what we wanted to do, thanks to David. Pedro did a Great job filling in for David. Pedro was very friendly and professional. We got to see all the highlights of Lisbon. My favorite being the Time Out Market. I HIGHLY recommend booking with David!! Even if he is in the ER he will take care of you! Do I need to say anything more??

We arrived early one morning from the states and we wanted to see the city that afternoon- wanting an overview of Lisbon to better acquaint ourselves with this fascinating city. If you are thinking of 'What To Do In Portugal" this is by far the best tour in Lisbon. A private tour is the way to go. Its customized for you to see everything in the city in the most comfortable way-in a comfy car, riding around on a private 1/2 day tour. We were picked up from our Hotel,The One, by a lovely couple named David M and his wife Michelle. Btw-They are a fine example of what tour guides should be like. They greeted us like we were family. They introduced us to their city with pride. We went to see monuments and took photo opts. We saw beautiful cathedrals and stopped in one. We viewed parks, gardens and passing street markets - always asking us if we wanted to stop and look around. Again photo opts around breathtaking hilltop areas. We drove around Alfama, passed famous squares and walked around Jeronimos Monastery. They pointed out Santa Justa- a fun ride on this famed elevator. We stopped and walked around the UNESCO site the Belem Tower and to the Discoveries, a prized monument in Portugal. David and Michelle went out of their way to show us the best of their city. They explained the history of the floods, the fires and the best part..the food of Lisbon. We passed the Time Out market.-a must do in Lisbon. We drove along the lovely water front-only to go for a surprise stop at the famous Pasties de Belem pastry shop- here we skipped the line got in tableside and enjoyed the warmed tasty pasteis de nata, a classic Portuguese treat. What a highlight! In 1/2 day we were filled with everything you need to know about Lisbon and what to do. It made our stay an enjoyable one. Thank you David M and your lovely wife Michelle.Great tour guides-both adding in the fine points of Lisbon, its well known eateries and their music genre-Fado-dating back to the 1820's.Leaving us off at the end of our day, we said we made you both a friend. We will be back. Thanks to you both!!! Great tour with indelible memories. Your kindness remains.
