My husband and I traveled to Cudillero for peace and quiet, away from our towns noisy festival, we are seniors. I was looking forward to open windows with cool air. Yes, Cudillero is lovely and picturesque. The airbnb was in the center of town, and typical of Spanish towns, noise from the bars can go on to the wee hours. In addition to this there are seagulls the likes I have never heard. All night long their sound was like something from “Jurassic Park” I used to love seagulls. We ended up keeping the windows closed in the front and ran a fan. There were many young families in town, it must have been hard to find things for young children to do, the beach seems to be the main attraction. Walking through town was an experience, cobblestones and narrow sidewalks. The view from the mountains was magnificent. Food was great, reasonably priced for a seaside town. The beaches were an hours walk away, we did drive one day, it was small and crowded. We did have a lovely day seeing the Salgas family Palace, whos’ gardens rivaled the Biltmore estate in Asheville NC. I can not emphasize enough how extraordinary the gardens were, with horticulture from all over the world. We were lucky enough to travel to the mountains about an hour away, again an amazing experience. When we travel up north again more research into finding a tranquil place is needed.

An unforgettable experience, I did several tours with them on the Western, Eastern and Covadonga Lakes Route, very well organized and practically as a family, in a very small group. We organized it with time and the truth is that it shows that they have a lot of experience and knowledge. Your guide José Carlos is a machine, you can tell he enjoys his work. We will be back!!!!
