viator (tripadvisor owned) cancelled our trip the day of our tour but 3 weeks later has not provided our requested refund. I had to dispute the charge with my cc company but should not have to go to that trouble. Don't book with viator.

The time definitely matters. While some of the plants still had flowers on them, most had bloomed out since we were there in November. But the guide indicated during the summer, the heat was so intense that many of the plants had withered. So the recommendation was to visit in the spring. Nonetheless the guide was very informative about the history of such and with each stop, allowed everyone to take as many pictures as we wanted. In total this lasted about an hour. Enjoy.

You can see most of the patios by yourself, but the small charge for this guided tour was very much worth it, adding greatly to the experience. Meritxell our guide was very good and as a third generation owner of a couple of the patios you could not miss her enthusiasm and commitment to keep this tradition alive. There seems to be a small group of owners who are at the centre of keeping such patios as they were and showing visitors their beauty. Despite not being in the optimum season, the 6 patios we visited were truly lovely. Meritxell explained how previously many families had lived together in truly cramped conditions and the patios was "general space" where they all met. With lots of other stories and information it brought the visit to the patios to life. I hope that our small contribution helps maintain these beautiful and historic places.

Meritxell is an accomplished patio owner herself, but ran the tour like an old friend letting you in on some fun secrets. I loved that we were being invited to the homes of real people and got to see their families and pets! A truly intimate experience that’s steeped in history, tradition and culture. It’s no wonder the patios of Cordoba are recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.

An excellent tour – very good guide. We hugely enjoyed our visit to the patios – Maria, who lives there and is a third generation patio keeper really shared the history of the area – it was a lot more than just look at some pretty courtyards, although they were are absolutely amazing! We would highly recommend this to others. Interesting and informative tour.

First, the non certified guide was late while 6+ of us were wandering around trying to find her. Then, the tour which we were told would be in English only was in Spanish as well which made the tour frustrating from a convenience perspective - especially as it felt like the guide was speaking more to the Spanish speaking participants than those of us who were English speaking. We only saw 4 patios, 2 of which were her own residents. When I expressed my frustration with the tour she got snippy with me. Save your $ and take a general walking tour of Cordoba which - as we learned only after this tour - also includes patios!

Absolutely brilliant tour. I can’t recommend this highly enough. It gives you a totally different insight to Córdoba. This could well have been the highlight of an amazing trip. Thank you.

This tour is amazing! The patios were gorgeous, and the guide was very knowledgeable. The guide was a local long-time resident. The pace gave us lots of time to take pictures. Absolutely worth the time!

Great tour with a great guide! The best way to see and learn about Patios of San Basilio! Great experience! Thank you, we had great time!

Very nice guide with plenty of storytelling, only a shame that little was planned ahead and refers a little room with some old cooking panels a "museum". For a similar price, I went to see magnificent cathedrals instead of wasting my time dragging on some private patios like a turtle. Nice flowers, but clearly overpriced, disorganized and taking too much time for too little.
