Montserrat is a must-see experience. We were lucky to be at the church at 1pm and heard the boy choristers sing. It was magical. Our guide, Alberto, took us to Llopart to taste wine which was entertaining, informative and delicious.

We had a wonderful day with our guide Matt. We went to Monserrat first. He gave us multiple options to spend our time since the day was rainy. After the Basilica, we viewed the art museum then ventured down to the cave of the Black Madonna via funicular. Then it was on to wine tasting at Llaport Winery. This was one of the best wine tasting experiences. Overall, a really great day!

Both stops were amazing. Really enjoyed the winery but Montserrat was breathtakingly beautiful. Our guide, Isabel, was FANTASTIC! What a great way to spend our 1 full day in Barcelona before going on our cruise. This is a full day 10 hour private tour, well worth the $$.

Had a fantastic time. Luis is a great guide. We decided to take an extra hike on the rosary trail at Montserrat instead of doing the wine tour, and Luis was able to quickly accommodate the change and hiked with us. We got to see everything, it was great.

This was a great way to get out of the city and see more of the surrounding area. The Monastery was beautiful and having a guide, Ramon, that could take us through and help us understand the history of the area but also how it relates to Spanish and ecclesiastical history made it so much more memorable. The Cava vineyard was amazing and it was fun being paired up with a group for this part which made the tour a lot more enjoyable.

If you're in Barcelona or planning a trip, save a day for Cava and Montserrat! We came to Spain to celebrate my 40th birthday and our 5th wedding anniversary. From the effortless pickup at our hotel, to the wonderfully led winery tour, to the unparalleled vistas of the Montserrat Monastery, this excursion was unforgettable. To start our day, our tour guide drove us to the Llopart Winery in Cava. We learned about the history of this incredible winery which dates back nearly 1000 years and its journey through history of itself with dozens of generations of family ownership. The wine was great, the wine tour (led by Mario!) was fantastic, the perfect buzz kept us going, and we were ready for the main event of Montserrat! The car journey (by van) to Montserrat was easy and allowed us to see more of the beautiful topography of Catalonia than we would have seen had we stayed in Barcelona proper. The monastery is built into the top of a mountain and the views from this gorgeous location were simply magical. We were able to see the basilica and surrounding complexes at our own pace (it was just the two of us!) in the off-season. We had a lovely time, and we know you will too!

Great trip with our super guide Alejandro. Very funny and knew his stuff. Skilled at driving and took us through some streets in ancient towns too small for bicycles-Haha... The cathedral was really beautiful and well maintained. The mountain is very beautiful and interesting. The wine tasting and tour of the winery was handled by the vineyard. They missed the opportunity to sell us wine to have shipped back home. Alejando really saved my life when I left my tablet in the back seat of the car when we separated around 7pm on our final night in Barcelona. I notified Alejando that night and he delivered it to me before 7am the next morning before we departed for the airport. Really great guy.

Luis was a very helpful and friendly guide. Despite the fact that we were late he called the winery and made sure we were able to participate in the tour. We appreciated his flexibility and understanding. We were also very happy for his guidance at a local Spanish restaurant as we struggled with the menu and language. Overall, it was a great day.
