Behind the imposing white façade of Dr. Gachet’s house there still hums the echo of the lively conversations that took place there from 1872, when the doctor, a passionate art lover, moved in. This site, classified as a historical monument, is today the only house where lived Van Gogh preserved in its original state. The soul of the painter still vibrates under the eaves of the Auberge Ravoux, and in House No. 5, the glory of Van Gogh gives way to an atmosphere of intimacy. A place of memory, Van Gogh's House is also a place of life: today as in 1890, the dining room welcomes guests from all over the world in the warm and authentic atmosphere of the artists' cafés of the past.

The garden is magnificent and Van Gogh tour was great. I appreciated the back ground given while driving there., but once we got to the garden the guide spent very little time with with us. We were listening to another group that had a guide. Also, we were unable to have lunch at Van Goh’s restaurant I guess a misunderstanding with our reservations. They did offer to have lunch at outside table , but that defeats the whole experience . 🤷🏽‍♀️

Jean Paul was very knowledgeable and easy to speak with. He took us to the Monet water garden first before it was too crowded. We then wandered the garden and home. Afterwards he drove us to Auvers and we visited the inn where Van Gogh died. I thought it would be morbid but it was respectful. He showed us the scenes that Van Gogh painted and eventually Van Gogh’s grave. While we ate lunch he moved the van to the cemetery as walking a long time is hard for me. He was a very good and thoughtful guide. Highly recommend. I was a wonderful day. Many tours do not include Auvers as a Van Gogh fan I loved this day. I will always remember it.

Gil was very friendly and knowledgable. We especially appreciate arriving earlier at the Gardens and Mansion before things got too crowded. Overall a great experience, especially combined with later visits to the Musee D'Orsay and Monet Museum Marmatton in Paris. One note is that the tour decription on Viator mentioned admission to the Maison du Docteur Gachetamd and the Musee des impressionnismes, which we did not visit. We were not sure if this was an oversight or an incorrect description on your web site.

Great trip with a knowledgeable guide. Giverny was beautiful. Monet created the perfect garden to inspire his art. We were picked up from our hotel which was far superior to having to traipse across town to a meeting point. The fee was reasonable. The Van Gough portion was also moving and we ate at the cafe where he ate and lived upstairs.

A perfect day. Our guide, Jean-Paul, picked us up right on time and drove us to Giverny. I’ve always loved Monet so seeing his water garden was magical. I was so happy we were not a part of any of the large groups shuffling along the path. We were able to easily navigate around them to find beautiful spots to stop and enjoy our surroundings. The village itself is charming. The visit to Auvers-sur-Oise was spectacular. I loved visiting the doctor’s home and then the room where Van Gogh lived (and died) during his short stay there. The most incredible part of the trip was to stand where Van Gogh painting the Auvers Church. I purchased a small version of the painting from the d’Orsay 40 years ago and never dreamed one day I would see it in person! Jean-Paul was a fabulous guide patiently answering questions and listening to stories.

It was a really enjoyable day.. with a guide who shared nuggets of information from the city of Paris to the towns of Giverny, Auvers and everything in between. With a personal vehicle, we could decide to spend more or less time at each location which was useful with young children around.

Jean Paul was an amazing guide who provided us with not only a great insight into Monet and Van Gogh but some other interesting perspectives. Monet's garden is truly amazing and seeing where Van Gogh spent his last days and exactly what he painted was extremely worthwhile. Thank you for the experience

Giverney was the most beautiful place I've ever seen and our tour guide Claude was so great, it was a wonderful tour and the best day of our 10 days in France.

We enjoyed our day tour from Paris to Giverny and Auvers sur Oise. Our guide JP was nice, fun and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the history behind Monet and Van Gogh. It was a really interesting day for us! However, there was some confusion about our itinerary and we weren’t taken to all the spots in Ginervy after we left. Fortunately, when I addressed the issues, our guide JP was willing to fix the mistakes and take us back to Giverny and complete our full itinerary . Although time was lost on the road by driving back and forth (and extra 60-90 min?), we appreciate his efforts to make us happy. We liked the flexibility and easiness of private tour as we didn’t feel obligated to chat with other people or accommodate and wait around for others in other day tours in minivan. We highly recommend this tour to everyone, just be sure that you check your itinerary on your voucher with your guide at the beginning of your tour!
