Company changed the tour itinerary without informing us, so we missed the thermal pool, Santa Barbara beach and vine making place

I did A LOT of research on different tour companies/Sete Cidades tours, trying to find a tour that would suit me and what I wanted to see - this one fit my criteria in terms of viewpoints, group size, and good reviews ... although they need to update their website as a few of the spots they listed as stops have apparently since been dropped... Caldeira Velha, the liquor factory, and the pineapple plantation are no longer stops on this tour. It was a long day so I understand why they needed to tighten up the itinerary... but to avoid disappointing people (and awkwardness with the poor guide), they really should update their info :) I also didn't get any response to my email inquiries until after I had booked the tour... I almost ended up choosing another company because of the lack of response, but I am glad I persisted. The tour itself was excellent. Filipe was a wonderful guide: very informative, kind, and engaged with the group. He also did a nice job introducing everyone to each other which was appreciated :) . Lunch was buffet style and provided a variety of options (mostly meat and fish), and also included tea, coffee, wine (pineapple juice in my case :) ), and a dessert (biscuit cake or rice pudding were our options). It seemed like a lot of tours stopped there, because it was quite chaotic and busy when we arrived. While I was a bit disappointed that we didn't end up going to some of the stops listed on their site, in the end I had a great time and I am glad he switched up the schedule a bit so that we were able to see Sete Cidades with blue skies. We were given enough time at each stop, and I liked that we had a chance to walk to some of the points instead of just hopping in and out of the van... the walk to Miradouro Boca do Inferno was really lovely. And that was my favourite viewpoint as well!

Great tour. Very nice and very educated guide. Very inexpensive for all that you received . Included buffet lunch. Would definitively recommend . We were thinking of renting a car, but decided to do the east, the west and the Furnas Night tour with this company. So glad we did it this way. Saw the whole island with great info and no worries with driving. ( Some roads were closed and of course our guide new how to get to the scenic areas. The people that rented a car were having problems with this.

Our guide Phillip is the best. He is such a kind and considerate gentleman. He provided all the historical and relevant information on the way. Really appreciated.

Beautiful nature, stunning views, but we couldn’t go to the hot springs because of the rain. Our tour guide was very nice, seemed to know everything about the island, we liked the tour

It was such a nice day. Pick up at the hotel wich was nice because you didn't had to rush in the morning. It was an relaxed day with Bruno and really had a great time. Also because Bruno is such a nice person and we laughed the whole day. Didn't feel like we rushed things and we could see things at our own pace. Bruno told us a lot about the island and he probably knows everything. Just ask him! I would recommend this tour with Bruno to anyone!

Bruno is an amazing tour guide and a really nice person. I really liked the peaceful tour with all the most beautiful places across the island. You definitely should choose him to go find amazing spots. He is also a very good photographer so he may take you a great facebook profile picture for your life ;) hehe. Highly recommend him!

Bruno is an excellent guide who took a lot of time and energy to show us around the beautiful island of Sao Miguel. A must-do experience which lets you appreciate and enjoy without hassle this paradise! Definitely recommended.

I was lucky enough to have accidentally booked one of the most awesome, life-changing experiences I’ve ever. I thought I was booking a simple sightseeing tour, but I ended up making a great friend. Bruno ended up being one of the most passionate, knowledgeable, funny, kind, and caring people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He’s the type of person that you can immediately tell loves his job, his island, and his life; his love for the island and it’s sights is contagious. I actually missed the pick up time in the morning of the tour, mistakenly believing that the tour started at 9 instead of 7. Bruno messaged me to check to see if everything was ok, and because I was the only one who had booked the tour, he just offered to pick me up at 9. It’s a shame that nobody else had booked the tour because the experience was simply amazing. I loved the pineapple company, which is also expanding into grapes, dragon fruits, and other awesome fruit. We also got to experience smaller hidden gems such as Canary Lake, a beautiful small church, and a cute buffet place for lunch. Of course we also saw all of the huge sights and scenes, my reason for coming on the tour in the first place. Places like Sete Cidades took my breath away, the abandoned hotel was the perfect viewpoint for the amazing green and blue lake. Bruno’s knowledge of every place we went is unparalleled, and you know that something is truly amazing when the tour guide still has his breath taken away. I was also lucky enough to have absolutely perfect weather conditions to see the Lagoa do Fogo clearly. Bruno offered to take pictures of me at all the locations, which never even crossed my mind, which gave birth to a small project that I never would have done if it wasn’t for him. His English was amazing, and he taught me so much about Portuguese, not to mention that he is an absolute joker and is quite honestly hysterical. I loved my day with Bruno and I’m glad that I can now call him a true friend. I’ll never forget my day in the Azores with him. When you go on this tour, ask him to make a cow sound for you, and let me know if he’s still got it! Thank you so much Bruno, from the bottom of my heart! Until next time, my friend! Mouuuuuuuu 🐄🐄🐄

This tour is amazing. Traveling over the island and witnessing the diverse beauty of Sao Miguel, felt like I truly was walking into the wild. Bruno is very kind and generous with his time and shares his appreciation and knowledge of Sao Miguel. He is is a great guide and makes you feel instantly comfortable and paced the day so it was never rushed, it felt like a day exploring the island with my long lost friend. Pick up and drop off is at your accommodation so you don’t have to rush to a location you aren’t familiar with. Lunch at a Restaurant Lagoa Azul was delicious. All in all a really great experience. There is light hiking, you can do it with trainers and comfortable clothing. Bring a towel, suit and maybe flip flops with you to soak in the hot springs. I’m happy booked this tour with Into the Wild Tours.
