Quinta da Regaleira

Parque e Palacio de Monserrate

Monserrate Palace is a beautiful 19th century stately home. This extravagantly decorated palace blends Portuguese, Arabian and Indian architectural styles and is one the most beautiful buildings in Sintra. The palace was commissioned by Francis Cook, an English textile baron, who used the estate as a summer retreat. The grounds of the Monserrate Palace hide specialist and exotic gardens with non-native plants. This palace is the smallest of Sintra’s three palaces but it is by far the most decorative and beautiful one.

Cabo da Roca

At the westernmost point of Europe, where the land ends and the sea begins. The Sintra Mountain here abruptly meets the Atlantic Ocean in a cliff of more than 100 m high. The cape is wind-swept, and even in the middle of summer can be cold enough for a jacket or sweater. When weather permits, the views of the cliff are breathtaking.

Praia das Azenhas do Mar

(Pass by)

Located on a cliff off the coast of Lisbon, near Sintra, Azenhas do Mar is among the most appreciated and exciting beaches in Europe. Because of the amazing views that it offers, it remains a popular tourist destination in both winter and summer. It gives you a chance to admire the great Atlantic Ocean in its entire splendor. With white houses perched on the North Slope and an extraordinary swimming pools dug out of the rock.

Amazing day. Anontio was truly professional, helpful and accommodating. Looking after us on a day trip from Sintra to Averio. Highly recommended.

Our day with Antnio was amazing. We were able to explore Pena Palace, Moorish Castle, Regaleira, and Moserrate. He also took us to a quaint cafe for lunch and two viewing sites along the ocean. He was very attentive and made sure we didn't get lost. Highly recommend tour.

We were first time visitors to Sintra, English speaking and traveling with one other couple so we were a party of 4. I chose Classic Sintra and Antonio in particular because the reviews sounded great. My communication with him before we arrived was excellent. He lives in Sintra and loves his home so I thought that a tour given by him would be wonderful.I would love to rate a 5 also, but I can't. We went to Pena Palace, Cascais and Cabo da Roca. The 4 of us fit comfortably in his vehicle. If there were 6 of us, it would have been too tight. I thought we would have a guided tour through the Palace and on our journey. Antonio didn't speak much and what he did say, I couldn't understand. I don't know if it was because of his accent or because of road noise since we were sitting in the back of his van. Maybe it was just a bad day for him. Antonio didn't go into the Palace with us. We bought the audio tour at Pena Palace but it didn't work. It was a beautiful palace but we didn't know the significance of anything yet saw other tour groups walking with their guides enjoying learning about the details. Antonio was a good dependable driver. I was disappointed in the guidance given on this tour as the rest of our party was too. Before you book a tour, double check that your guide will go with you into the Palace.

Antonio not only communicated well about our personalized tour before the trip, he clearly understood our travel style and thoughts as well as limitations. He was a delightful guide for our entire trip. We went to places that were not in guidebooks, avoided lines and areas that would be crowded and disappointing and knew all the tips and tricks to making each stop easy and fascinating. He gave us options and found us a beautiful place on the coast for lunch. We saw a special Sintra though the eyes of a local who loves where he lives.

We booked this tour of Sintra and they were happy to tailor it to what we preferred to see. Our tour guide was Antonio and he was not only well informed but also pleasant and accommodating. He is excellent and highly recommended.

It was a wonderful experience with Classic Sintra tours. As was told the vehicle with the driver was waiting for us at the stipulated place. The driver was very polite, the vehicle condition was good. The driver was very knowledgeable and wanted us to show Sintra and all the places that claim to fame. Please ask for Antonio as the driver if you happen to do a trip with Classic Sintra tours

Anthony was a great driver. He listened to what we imagined our day to be like and then fulfilled. He knew where to buy tickets without a line and dropped us off and picked us back up at each point. He was also very knowledgeable about all the stops and would advise us what route to take to get the most out of our time. As an added bonus he took us over to the coast for some sightseeing with our remaining time.

One of best tours we ever had, so great we booked a second day! Classic Sintra Tours is one of the best. Even though from the beginning we had an 8 hour time difference we received emails quickly and got detailed information about what the tour entailed. WOW is an understatement as the the fantastic experiences we had in the two days of our tours We were taken to the Pena Palace, a monastery and then all kinds of places we wouldn't have known about or even considered without the guidance of our great guide Antonio. Antonio knows the Sintra area well and I/we cannot say enough good things about him - his professionalism, his friendly demeanor, his knowledge of the area, sites and history and best of all he steered me from making a mistake for my husband and my 44th wedding anniversary. I had not informed my husband of my plan to have a drink and watch the sunset from Cabo la Roca. It was supposed to be a big surprise. Instead Antonio knew better and booked us a reservation at an amazing restaurant on the water in a small town where we could have a special dinner and also watch the sunset. What an unforgettable way to spend our special day/anniversary! We stayed in Sintra and I highly recommend this option as there is so much to see and do in Sintra. A one day tour from Lisbon is just not enough. I could just go on and on but you should stop reading and book a tour with Classic Sintra tours and have the most amazing experiences!!

Antonio was a wonderful tour guide. He pointed us in the right direction, and we got to see the best of SIntra. He also suggested a local restaurant and made reservations for us - the food was delicious. I highly recommend him.

Regina_J

Antonio was helpful in allowing us to see a good bit in a single day and was accommodating to our plans while adding good advice. The personalized experience was very much worth it.
