Very informative guide. Well organised itinerary which allowed full exploration of the monastery. The visit to the Valley of the Fallen was particularly dramatic.

So what is the most memorable part of this amazing journey, it is hard to tell, but lets start from amazing guide talking perfect English who made sure we are informed about every nook and cranny of the trip. El Escorial was one of the most magic places we had experienced in a while, we visited it at early morning to see it at full glory of the sunrise. it was spectacular place to visit both outside in the beginning of our trip, as well as seeing its mysteries from inside, thanks to our guide we had an opportunity to know more about the monastery and the surrounding city. Another place which left a lasting memory in our minds is The Valley of the Fallen, we had a spectacular opportunity to see the surroundings and visit inside while hearing the most fascinating story of the place and the former resting place of Franco.

Cristina is a great tour guide. The tour departed on time an we had plenty of time to explore and visit the El Escorial and Valley of the Fallen.

Christina our guide met us promptly as agreed and we were shown to a high quality small bus. Mainly Spanish speakers but this in no way detracted from tour as full translations were given. The tour took place at a moderate speed, easy enough to keep up for those of us a little slow but not excessive. Lots of steps of differing angles so I would not recommend for those with poor knees or mobility issues. Not all have handrails. El Escorial is beautiful beyond description. Look it up before you go.! We stopped in the village for a quick coffee and can recommend the small patisserie cafe Alaska for a takeaway. The orange crème patisserie filled mini donuts were delicious The valley of the fallen was interesting but I wish we had spent more time at the monastery as we didn’t get to see the gardens. We did however see an eagle soaring above the park. My only other criticism would be that we only had time to visit the tiny bookshop at the valley of the fallen not at El Escorial. I would have liked to see more souvenirs as no pictures are allowed inside. We liked Christina very much. She was informative and able to answer many questions including about Spanish current affairs. Monica is an excellent driver and made the journey comfortable. In summary, it was an excellent, well organised tour at a very good price. Communication was very good. I would strongly recommend.

Guide formidable qui s'est efforcé de parler français alors que ce n'était pas prévu, visite très complète de plus de deux heures à l'Escurial, près d'une heure a la Vallée. Seulement, ce n'est pas Viator, mais une agence espagnole sous-traitante...
