What to expect
Bribie Island
After the pick-up, we drive to the Pumicestone Passage, where we will enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beachfront. This walk has excellent birdwatching opportunities and wildflowers. The views over the Glass House Mountains are stunning.
Bribie Island
We then drive to Kakadu beach. Kakadu Beach is a beautiful park and bird sanctuary at Banksia Beach on Bribie Island. It is home to one of the few roost sites in the Pumicestone Passage and a gorgeous place to spend time in nature. Some common bird sightings include the Spotted Dove, Crested Pigeon, Buff-banded Rail, Beach Thick-knee, and the Pied Stilt. Wader species include the Whimbrel, Great Knot, Eastern Curlew, Curlew Sandpiper, Red-necked Stint, Sooty Oystercatcher, and the Lesser Sand Plover, among many others.

Cafe 191 Lunch
Bribie Island
After lunch at Cafe 191, we will do a few bushwalks. The “Banksia, Palm Grove, and Melaleuca Bicentennial” bushwalks begin near the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre. We will walk through Eucalypt forests, Paperbark wetlands, and Wallum heathlands. Rainbow Bee-eaters, Red-backed Fairy-wrens, and Eastern Yellow Robins are some of the colourful birds you may encounter.
Bribie Island
We will finish or start our tour (depending on the tides) at Buckley’s Hole Conservation Park. Buckley’s Hole covers almost 88 hectares, including a freshwater lagoon, woodlands, open forest, mangroves, swamplands, and a stunning beach. It is a bird-watchers paradise; there are more than 190 species of birdlife that call the conservation park home.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
