Your Itinerary

Peso Da Regua

(Pass by)

The meeting point or pick-up can be anywhere in the Douro Region (Peso da Régua, Lamego, Sabrosa, Pinhão, Vila Real). You will start your tour with our guide, a local from the region, who will be able to give you a pure perspective on what you will see throughout the day.

Sabrosa

Sabrosa, where you will make your first stop, is one of the many municipalities bordering the Douro, which have seen their landscape worked and shaped by the strength and determination of man, and which has now been declared a World Heritage Site. Here you will visit a Wine Estate, learn about its history and do a wine tasting. You will also be able to learn about the traditional methods of producing Douro wines side by side with a landscape made up of vineyards, olive trees and terraces. Here, it will also be possible to learn about the traditional production methods of Douro wines in the course of a vineyard landscape made up of its vineyards, olive trees and terraces.

Casa dos Barros

The next stop will be for lunch at Casa dos Barros, one of the best preserved and most magnificent manor houses in Sabrosa, classified as a Public Interest Heritage Site. The property, built in the 18th century, boasts beautiful Baroque gardens and an immense view over the vineyards, which you can enjoy while tasting the best flavors of the region.

Admission Included

Miradouro Torguiano De Sao Cristovao Do Douro

After lunch, you will continue your journey to the Miradouro de S. Cristóvão do Douro, located on the road between Sabrosa and Pinhão. It's a place distinguished by Miguel Torga for its extraordinary landscape, which results from the magnificent view of the vineyards and terraces typical of the region, but above all, from the perfect and defined view of the meeting of the Pinhão River with the waters of the Douro River.

Cais do Pinhão

It's time to set sail in a typical rabelo boat, in what is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas in the region. The view of the river on both banks, in areas where there are only vineyards and wine estates, it´s a unique landscape.

Nice experience to spend a day in the Douro river valley. Tour guide spoke little Spanish although the experience was booked with a Spanish tour guide.

Each winery we visited was amazing! Loved the Douro river cruise. Our tour “guide” was more of driver, not informative. Nice man, good driver but didn’t converse with us.

Paulo was an excellent guide. He provided lots of information about the Douro Valley as well as Portuguese culture. The wine tastings were a lot of fun and lunch was delicious. Our favorite part was just being driven around the valley and seeing the gorgeous scenery.

HUGELY RECOMMENDED! Well organised, incl. meals and travel to relevant places (winery, viewpoint). Meals are tasty and good value. Multiple views during travel, incl. 2 locks and explanations (PT, GB, FR). Winery visit and tasting and travel to beautiful scenic point before return to station.

Really enjoyed the 1 day trip down the Douro River. The scenery along the river was beautiful, especially when we got nearer to the wine region in Regua. The breakfast and lunch served was good. We were picked up promptly at Regua and had an great port wine tasting at Quinta Seara dÒrdens `winery followed by a trip to a beautiful viewpoint that gave a great view of the valley. My only complaint was that it gets very hot on the upper deck of the boat on a sunny day and it would be nice if there was some shade on the upper deck of the boat.

Excellent river cruise (1 hour) and entertaining and informative guide. Good lunch but would have preferred smaller restaurant. Second more boutique winery had the best wines/ports and the lookout point was great. Nice to be in a small minibus not a big coach! Thanks Paolo and for standing up to Mustang driver!

Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. We had a lovely day and visited a beautiful hotel with stunning scenery for lunch. We stopped at three wineries and tasted some exquisite wine and ports. This tour was very good value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Bad service. We booked a one-day boat trip regua- barca-de-alva and notified us 5 days in advance (with a weekend and a holiday in between) that the cruise was canceled without explaining the reason and giving us no valid alternatives. unless a full refund (as if it could be any other way) or enjoy the experience 7 days later..... We opted for a refund, and showed our displeasure at the lack of justification for the cancellation and for not being given viable alternatives (we have a 2 year old baby and are not close to us, which was not taken into account in the slightest). They responded that the cancellation was because they didn't have enough people (there were 5 days left for the experience) and worse, they didn't refund immediately, so I will only receive the amount over the weekend and public holiday, Tuesday. Poor customer service, amateurish and not prioritizing the customer at all.

The overall experience was good due to the environment in which it takes place, but the breakfast and food left a lot to be desired. At breakfast, sachet juice, coffee that looks like water and no healthy options like fruit or similar. And then you watch later as the waiters serve eggs, bananas and other options in front of you. For lunch, an industrial and unknowing vegetable cream, a tough meat and, as a vegetarian/vegan option, a frozen and reheated lasagna. In addition, the rice accompaniment is served in a bowl in the center of the table to share without taking into account that the people you sit with are total strangers. But the worst of all was the hygiene and quality of the staff's service. The waiters passing plates over the entire table, keep the cutlery or glasses that have not been used during the service at the end of the day as clean despite people having been eating in the same place. Basically, a pretty expensive service for what they actually show you afterwards.

A disaster. If I went back in time I WOULD NOT GO BACK. The positives were few: the staff was very friendly, the views were beautiful, the train ride back along a very nice route and the winery experience was quite good. What we didn't like: - Continental breakfast with terrible coffee, powdered juice and jam that was gelatin with sugar. - The food is even worse, dry chicken, tasteless vegetables, dusty soup, terrible wine and hard rice. - The boat has capacity for 100 people, but not chairs for 100 people and the crew confirms this: it is planned that travelers will take turns in chairs, but on a 4-hour trip no one wants to stand, so the logistics It's quite complicated. - They distribute the tables according to their opinion and at the table you share everything with people you don't know and who are more or less polite and clean...
