Embarcadoiro de Santo Estevo

At the Santo Estevo pier we will take a catamaran that will take us along the Sil River, right on the border between the provinces of Lugo and Ourense. Along the route they will explain curiosities about the history of this area that, due to the excellent quality of its wines, is beginning to be known worldwide. Along the route we will be able to appreciate practically inaccessible vineyard areas, where the winemaking work is carried out completely by hand due to the difficulties involved in using machinery given the steepness of the terrain.

The guide and driver were great, I was a bit upset that the wine tour and the boat tour was entirely in Spanish, once the wine tour guide was aware we were english he did explain the wines in english but we missed all the other info. These were the 2 things I was excited about and was very disappointed.

The tour had some wonderful stops that gave us great sense of the 4 provinces of Galicia. Unfortunately my fiancé rolled her ankle in a pothole and injured herself quite badly, meaning we couldn’t finish the tour. Our guide, Lucia, couldn’t have been more helpful. She organised a ambulance to collect us and we’re very rapidly whisked away to a local medical centre we’re we saw a doctor in no time. The tour company even organised a 2 hour taxi ride back to our hotel at no expense to us. We were gutted not to finish the tour with our group but we were so impressed and grateful to Lucia and the team. If you take the tour, you will be in very safe hands. Thanks again!
