Cabo Girao

Cape Girão (Girão Cape) is the biggest cliff in Europe. It is located in the island of Madeira, and it can be seen from the sea or visited from land to enjoy its fantastic views. This impressive cliff has 580 meters of free fall.

Admission Not Included

Ribeira Brava Beach

This village, whose name means Wild River, is located in the mouth of the river of the same name, between mountains full of banana trees and other crops. To know the reason of the name "Ribeira Brava" it is recommendable to visit the village at the end of autumn or in winter, when the river flows at full. During the rest of the year, its quiet appearance hides its true nature.

Caminho Real da Encumeada PR12

Encouraged, incredible view to the north and south of the island.

Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools

Porto Moniz is an amazingly cosmopolitan village for being located in the northern end of Madeira. You will find some amazing natural pools which have been enlarged to have an area of warm baths of marine water. The city of Porto Moniz also has interesting places such as the Centro de Ciência Viva Center and the Aquarium of Madeira Aquarium. After you leave behind the city, the road goes up, zigzagging along the great slope of the hill which dominates the village. Here you will find two amazing overlooks that offer some impressive views.

Miradouro do Veu da Noiva

Seixal, located between Porto Moniz and São Vicente, is an excellent place to stop if you are traveling through the highway of the Northern coast of Madeira. From here you can explore the rocky coast and have a walk in the dock to admire the big cliffs and waterfalls which are on both sides of this little village.

Sao Vicente

São Vicente is a village located in the mouth of Ribeira Grande, almost hidden in the hole of a cliff, in the island of Madeira, Portugal. Its houses are set around the church and its environment is very initing with good cafes, hotels and numerous shops. The Chapel of St. Vincent Chapel lies on top of a rock in the mouth of the river.

The Camara de Lobos promenade

Câmara de Lobos is a small fishing village and municipality, located in the west of Madeira, which owes a large part of its appeal to the little fleet of fishing boats, painted in rich colors. The fishing boats can be seen on the beach for most of the day.

We booked the tour the previous day so was not sure about what it would be like, having not read any reviews. The tour guide/driver collected us on time and we started the usual hotel pickup, small tour bus so this didn’t take too long. The tour guide seemed extremely knowledgeable about the island and its history, we stopped at the usual tour stops for about 30mins each and a 90min stop for lunch. You do get a good overview of the west side of the island and its rugged coastline. The best part of the trip for me was the stories about the social side of the people of Madeira and their resilient and hard working nature.

We enjoyed a Welcoming West Madeira tour with Feeling Madeira our guide was again Renata. Renata used the old roads well to avoid too many tunnels .A good driver . Câmara de Lobos is a quaint , pretty fishing village( which we also visited via the Promenade walk) , impressive church & chandeliers @ Ribeira Brava. Interesting short trip to Banana plantation . Then a change in weather equated to poor visibility at Porto Moniz  pools & misty Cabo girao viewpoint.

What a fantastic day. Thank you Renato for making this trip so friendly, fun, informative and amazing. We could not have wished for a better day out. We loved it! Next time we visit Madeira we will be booking another trip with you to see the East coast.

Swimming in Porto Moniz is definitely must have. But most of the places were very interesting. I love it

The day trip was a great way to see the west side of the island without car. Paulo was our host and was friendly, informative, knowledgeable and, importantly, a safe driver. Communication from the company was excellent prior to the trip with a very helpful photo of our pick-up point. Booked through TripAdvisor instead of through the hotel for the best price.

A great tour of the west of the island expertly delivered with a sense of humour by Renato (George ;-)). It’s a great way to escape Funchal for the day and get more of a sense of the island and the evolving culture. The stops and timings are well judged with a leisurely lunch break for a possible sea pool swim. Thanks again Renato for a great tour.

Sergio arrived promptly at our hotel, he was very pleasant and charming and put us at ease immediately. He was a very good driver and guide and kept us entertained and was very informative throughout the whole day. His knowledge of the locations was amazing. We visited many areas around the west coast all of which had their highlights. A thoroughly enjoyable day out. Thank you

We did the West tour of the island. Our tour guide was Lionel, and he did everything possible to make our day magical. He was so informative and friendly, telling us all about the island and the places we visited. He was patient and despite the road being closed, due to a race, he made up the lost time and even made an extra stop to allow us to take photos of a waterfall. I would definitely recommend this company, especially Lionel on future trips to the wonderful island of Madeira!

It was brilliantly driven and hosted by Lionel. Charm, knowledge, humour and commitment to ensuring everyone was happy . Loved all the places al and feel the love of Madeira through Lionel’s adventure story telling which brought alive ! Lived swimming in wild volcanic pools and poncha and skywalk, but the day was thrilling. Thank you Lionel
