John was great and we could not have asked for more.. it was a bit rainy but it didn’t deter us! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to really do a whiskey tasting!!

Excellent tour. I promised our guide, John, a 1 star review (it was a joke). This was one of our favorite tours of our trip. It was nice to have a professional move us around rather than using the transport God gave me. It was both educational and entertaining, and there was plenty of whisky to taste. Highly recommended

Our amazing tour guide shared the secrets of the best scotch whisky and even adopted us into his clan! An unforgettable experience that is sure to impress the expert and novice whisky taster alike.

A few of my friends chose to hike Speyside Whisky Trail for our annual trip. Prior to the hike, we wanted a good introduction to the area and the various distilleries in the area.
We booked a 1 day private tour with Aye Tours. John did a phenomenal job. Very knowledgeable on what distillers are open on the day and modified the plans to accommodate our requests. He got us into a couple of distilleries at the last minute.
To top it all off, John came prepared with 6 whisky samples and gave us a quick crash course on various Scotch Whiskys that we would have missed in this trip.

Thank you John! You were so much fun and also very professional. We loved all the distilleries you shared with us, even stopping so we could say hello to the beautiful Highland coo’s! You are a very special person and we want to thank you for making us feel like family even if we are Morrison’s

Dear John the Fierce Highlander, I would like to express my gratitude for the amazing day we spent touring with you. Your comfortable vehicle, the insightful explanations and vivid insights made it a truly unforgettable experience. And, of course, the whisky tastings that you provided, which were in addition to the distillery visits, were the icing on the cake - from the lighter ones to the peated ones that we love, they made us incredibly happy. Thank you once again for a fantastic time.

My husband and I took the Speyside Whisky Tour with Aye Tours last week and had the most amazing time - we are still talking about it days later! John is incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and easygoing (not to mention hilarious), and from the moment you get in the van, he talks to you like an old friend.
While there is a planned itinerary, John is really flexible and makes sure that you aren't cut short at any of the distilleries you stop to visit. His number one priority, aside from safety, is that his guests have the best possible experience. We stopped at Glen Grant, The Macallan, Glenfiddich, and The Glenlivet, and it was awesome to visit the source of such renowned whiskies.
What sets this tour apart from every other tour we've taken is, without a doubt, John - we had really interesting and fun conversations with him the entire day, and it felt like we were being given a tour by a pal. My husband and I both have Scottish heritage, and John gave us so much information on our ancestors' clans, too - he even wore my clan's kilt that day! We truly learned so much about Scottish history, culture, and (of course) whisky.
We'll be visiting Inverness again in the next couple of years and we will absolutely book another tour with John!!
