Highly recommend this tour guide! I promise you will not be disappointed! Cesar was absolutely fantastic! This guide is everything you are expecting plus more ! They are extremely deticated people wanting to give you the FULL experience. You will not miss out on a single view! They are dedicated to giving you the views of a life time. Sometimes Mother Nature does not cooperate with plans but you don’t need to worry because they get the job done! If I could give a +10 star review, I absolutely would! Not only did we get to see the most spectacular views but we learned a lot about the history and made a great friend along the way! Don’t waste anymore time looking else where ! We highly recommend this company. We had Caesar as our tour guide, he was very polite and spoke perfect English. He grew up on the island, so he knows the area. He did an amazing job, he asked our small group, of 8 people, about the places that we wished to visit and customized the tour to accommodate our request when possible. He told us interesting stories and facts about each place. We stopped and got delicious sandwiches and pastries at a local bakery for lunch (lunch was not expensive). He was very careful to get us back to our cruise ship in plenty of time. We really enjoyed the tour and felt like we had seen much of this beautiful island. The company was very easy to work with. They emailed all of our instructions, on where to meet them at the cruise ship port. They met us just outside the doors of the port and held up a sign with our names on it. They quickly responded to my email questions.

I joined the hiking tour and airport transfer organized by Azorean Tours! I communicated with Gary via Whatsapp and he always replied promptly which I am really appreciated! We had a warm welcome by Cesar after we landed PDL. In the short transfer by Cesar, we could already felt that Cesae is a nice, polite, friendly and responsible guy! We initially planned to go around the island by ourselves. However, we chose to have a day in Furnas with Cesar. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, our kayak tour was cancelled by another company. Again, we chose to go to explore Sete with Cesar as we were deeply appreciated by his service! The next day, we had our hiking tour with Gary which is a friendly and kind guy! He chatted with us along the trail without pressure and even prepared us a yummy sandwich and Portuguese bakery after the hike. He made us a video for our hike! At the end of the trip, we met Cesar again and he drove us safely to the airport! Thank you so much for the arrangement by Cesar and Gary! I highly recommend this tour company!

I joined tours offered by Azores Azorean Tours 2 times already - 1st one was in 2018 and the 2nd one was in December 2023. Both trips to Sao Miguel were a great experience due to outstanding services provided by Gary and his team. They were very professional, responsive, and accommodating for the entire process including booking, follow-up, and the tours themselves. Their drivers are excellent. We recently had Cesar as our driver, everyone in our party of 8 people was very pleased with him. We originally planned to rent a car. We were so happy that we ended up taking their tours instead, so we could just focus on having a great time instead of figuring out all the logistics. I highly recommend them if you visit Sao Miguel!

This trip was wonderful, and as beautiful as Sete Cidades is, it was our tour guide Cesar that made the tour memorable. We actually did 3 tours with Cesar and he was phenomenal in everything that we did each day. He was flexible about what we did each day (be it pick up time or weather) and made sure each day was jam packed with things to see and experience. He called ahead for lunch reservations and offered other suggestions of what to do at night and on other non-tour days. He went well above and beyond. I highly recommend Cesar as a tour guide.

Excellent private tours by car. We actually did three tours. Gary Travassos the principle guide, is excellent. Got to see mostly the entire beautiful island! Tours take you to the best scenic views. Lunch stops where at traditional local eateries. Gary is knowledgeable and fluent in English. Highly recommend booking through Azorean tours with Gary!

Great tour, staff and day! We hadn't booked a private tour but 2 other cruise ships that were scheduled for the day canceled the port. Instead of canceling on us they provided us with a private tour for the price we had already paid. Will definitely book with them again

I feel kind of funny writing a 5 star review for a tour I never even got to take, but I want to share my experience with this tour operator. I was to arrive in Ponta Delgada on a cruise ship, and based on my recommendations, about 60 others from my ship also booked tours through this company. Unfortunately, due to some bad weather the day before, the Captain realized we weren't going to arrive in Ponta Delgada at our scheduled time, so I contacted Gary from Azorean Tours to let him know what was going on. At that point, we didn't know when we'd be able to dock, and Gary said he'd wait for me to update him when I knew more. First thing the next morning I was able to tell Gary we might arrive mid-afternoon, and he said he's see what he could do to still offer us a tour. About 1 o'clock, the Captain announced we wouldn't be docking until 8pm or so. It was obvious that we weren't going to be able to see anything at night, so Gary said he would start working on refunding all of us our money. Gary was a joy to deal with. He responded quickly to all my messages, from the initial booking to the time of cancellation, and seemed willing to adjust the tour schedule if at all possible. He sent out meeting information prior to the tour, and asked if he could share the email addresses with others that would be in the same vehicle. He was very responsive with all our communication, and I have no doubt the tour would have been very nice if we'd been able to take it. If I ever have a chance to go back to this port, you can be sure Gary is the only tour operator I'd book a tour with.

We did Tour #1 and #5. Dealing with Gary was a breeze, answered all my questions and was very accommodating! Our guide Gui was amazing!! He spoke English very well, and explained everything we were seeing as well as, some interesting historical facts. It was an amazing trip, this island is absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to come back.
