Abbazia di Montecassino

Founded in 529 by Saint Benedict of Nursia on the site of an ancient tower and a temple dedicated to Apollo, located at 516 meters above sea level, it has undergone over the course of its history an alternate story of destruction, looting, earthquakes and subsequent reconstructions.

Monte Cassino Polish War Cemetery

It is one of the five war cemeteries present in the Cassinate, together with the German (in the hamlet of Caira), Italian (in Mignano Monte Lungo), French (in Venafro) and that of the Commonwealth (in Cassino).

Rocca Abbaziale di Subiaco
