We're disappointed that we paid $17.50 each, that was the concession price, to simply walk around the various garden areas.
Sure the cactus is interesting but not that much.
Similarly the cactus desserts on offer were expensive.

I follow these guys on Instagram so of course needed to come here one day, that day being this weekend. We booked an Airbnb nearby and visited for a couple of hours on Saturday.
I adore cactus and succulents, I have so many at home but for some reason our visit felt both underwhelming & overwhelming at the same time. The scale of cactus gardens is impressive but you unfortunately get overstimulated by the scale of cactus due to areas not being well landscaped or mapped out so one section literally looks like the next and the next and so forth. If garden paths were better laid out it may have offered a better experience and distinction from one area to the next and there are no signs in each area telling you what each cactus is, no stories about the farm so the experience felt a bit soulless. Maybe this information was available via the online map but given the scale of the venue and the glare from sun the last thing you want to do was to have your phone out. It was kind of like going to the zoo but having no descriptions or indicators of what animals you were seeing or where they came from or what their story was so you’re left you to guess what you are seeing. There were literally no signs, no stories, no depth as to what you were seeing and there was a lot to see. The place also felt very run down, something Instagram does not capture.
This place has huge potential and we were glad to have visited but to make it a place you may wish to come back to, it definitely needs some soul available to visitors, something as simple as signage within the garden to tell people what cactus they are looking at, disclosing the history behind the garden within each section discovering something new within that story - That would have made the visit more memorable and given the opportunity to then tell family and friends the story of where we had been. Instead the only thing I could say when asked how our visit went was that I was glad to have visited, things felt run down and soulless and that there was no real distinction from one area to the next despite there supposedly being a good 5 different areas indicated by staff. We could not tell the differences between the areas.
Photo opportunities are plentiful, no bad photos could be taken but unfortunately a photo does not show a true reflection of the experience. We took a lot of photos which is why we were able to stay at the gardens so long (1.5 hours) but as we were all on our phones taking photos it felt like an unsocial interaction, kind of like when you go out to dinner with that friend that must take the perfect shot of the food before you’re allowed to eat. The 1.5 hour visit kind of felt like that unfortunately because everyone had their phones out and the funny or sad thing was everyone we saw there was doing the same thing. In a group but solo taking photos. If there were signs around the gardens you could at least read about garden history, cactus type etc, this could have offered opportunities where everyone could come together and learn about the gardens together. Had we not had our phones out we probably could have walked the gardens in a good 30 minutes.
The cactus plant sales nursery was also very underwhelming as plants available were very small, very expensive and was not a good reflection of what we had just seen out in the gardens. It was not a nursery abundant in plants, it was kind of like going to a market stall and only having 10 small plants to choose from. The shop was also very small, soaps on sale were dusty, one had a dead fly on top of it and skin care products that were very pricey but no samples available so the skincare bottles were also very dusty as I’d imagine no one was buying these due to no samples on offer.
Inside the cafe was bright and fun, exactly like what you see on Instagram but this space only makes up a good 10% of the scale of cactus country. The cactus gardens unfortunately does not share the same energy as the interior areas.
Cactus country is a perfect location for those wishing to take the perfect shot for social media or those curious about the gardens based on what they may have seen on social media. Definitely a place worth seeing just that once and maybe in future we’d come back if things were designed to take in the soul of this place because after reading the history of the gardens on the cactus country website (we only read this after our visit) this place definitely has soul, it just can’t be seen on the grounds of the garden yet.
Hopefully this review can be seen as a constructive true reflection of our visit experience and is in no way created to put people off attending these gardens. We are grateful for the experience we really do hope to visit this place again one day as there is so much potential here.

Beautiful experience, worth the visit. Cactus cake was exciting in their food menu. It is Open park so come prepared with Sun Lotion. They offer umbrella to save from Sun or Rain. Food Court ambience is good. Staff members are very friendly.

Friendly welcoming staff thank you Kotti. Excellent coffee and the cactus 🌵 cake and icecream was delicious 😋. The cactus gardens were well designed with plenty of information to work out the different cactus.

Good for family visit. Cactus cake amazing. Lots of puddles and unmade areas but okay I guess. Good weather so we enjoyed being under the sun.

The Cactus Country exceeded my expectations, I thought it would be smaller but it was 12 acres jam-packed of beautiful cacti. It was perfect to go with friends to take lots of photos and admire the beauty. The food was delicious and the decorations inside were beautiful. The map that is given to you is easy to read and follow and the staff are happy to answer any questions you may have. The cacti shop is full of gems to take home

Whilst there were cacti everywhere, and the ice cream and cake were great, it would have been good to have more signage and descriptions along each trail. I didn’t want to be trying to look at my phone whilst the sun was shining and I’m trying to enjoy looking around.
It was quite overpriced for the tickets and my 6yo was over it in the first 5 or so minutes. The price of the cacti was quite expensive too.

Lovely outing and a hit if you're into cacti and succulents. My dad had a blast and it was the second time I've been. Was fortunate enough to see some blooms too!
Huge garden with plenty to explore and a cafe to enjoy before or after! Also very dog friendly!
