Your Itinerary

St. Peter's Square

While we were able to walk straight into the German cemetery, the queue to get into St. Peter's Basilica was very long. However, a lot of information is explained to you while you are waiting, so the time passes quickly.

The queue, which no one can avoid, wasn't so bad thanks to our guide's stories. Climbing up to the top of the dome was another highlight.

Although there were long waits to get into St. Peter's Basilica on Maundy Thursday, the tour was a great experience. The team sweetened the guests' time with chocolate eggs and Donato patiently shortened it with lots of interesting facts about Vatican history and Italian society. Thank you for a great afternoon - we'll be happy to come back!

This tour is not recommended. You are not informed that you have to go through the security check twice if you go to the cemetery first and then to the cathedral. When you ask why you don't go to the cathedral first and then to the cemetery, you are simply lied to and told that you are not allowed to go to the cathedral with a tour guide earlier. After subsequent criticism, facts are simply distorted. Hence simply a bad rating. Incidentally, I have rated other tours better.

The tour was extremely exciting and educational! I have rarely been on a tour where the experience was conveyed with such verve and humor. The naturally long waiting times in front of St. Peter's Basilica were filled with many informative and funny anecdotes, so that the waiting time flew by. Our guide Mira is amazing!

My nephew Manuel, my sister Marina and I went on the tour of St. Peter's Basilica. The tour guide was Julia. We started with the quiet corner of the Vatican: the German cemetery and the Santa Maria della Pietà. On the way to the cemetery, Julia told us basic things and key facts about the Vatican, so that we were already provided with the most important basic information about the Vatican. Julia then led us through the cemetery and the church, providing us with information and stories. After we had finished the first part of the tour, we had to queue up for St. Peter's Basilica. When I saw the queue, I was a bit shocked at how long it was (although it was apparently still short by Vatican standards). But no problem. Our tour guide simply continued to provide us with information and anecdotes about the Vatican in the same pleasant manner as she had done before at the cemetery and then in St. Peter's Basilica itself. The waiting didn't feel like waiting at all. St. Peter's Basilica itself was breathtaking. I'm really not a big fan of churches. But I think you just have to see it. So I can absolutely recommend this tour. But first and foremost, the review reader probably wants to know what the tour guide was like, because the topic of the tour interests them anyway. Otherwise they wouldn't sign up. Julia did a really great job. She has a very pleasant narrative style and what I found really impressive: she is super structured when guiding. You had the feeling the whole time that she had a clear thread and never lost it. If she did, I at least didn't notice. I was a total fan of combining this relaxed narrative style with a structure. It's easy to think that the two things contradict each other. But I don't think that's the case, at least in this case. For example, she had documents with her that she could perhaps use to show something better than with the real object in front of us. She makes the queue more entertaining by telling stories, so that as a tourist you don't find it so bad to be in line and the tour doesn't feel like it's being interrupted by a queue. She draws attention to things that need to be taken into account when looking at the cathedral, but without over-feeding you. These are all small details that turn a very good tour into a Champions League tour. I'm also someone who quickly has a lot of questions. That wasn't the case with this tour, because everything that was said was so coherent. So I thought it was really good. Thank you so much, Julia, and all the best to you! Maybe we'll see each other again on another tour. =) Best wishes Marina, Manuel and Daniel PS: I'll also rate the other tours. But since I always like to write a few lines about them, I always need a quiet minute for them. But don't worry, they'll come too. =)

Here again a small group, incredibly interesting tour with lots of background information and a lot of time was taken to answer the visitors' questions. When we are back in Rome there is only one agency we can book tours with. German Roman THANK YOU :)
