The day trip was worth it. The company Italian Holidays gave enough heads up regarding the trip by sending a Whatsapp message the night before stating the driver's name, pick up time and rest of itinerary. Although the driver, Sr. Pino does not speak English he was there on time and used Google translate to communicate. He does understand some Spanish and was great to talk to for the 3-4 hours each way on the road. Once in Florence, Pino gives a typed itinerary and leaves the tourists by Piazza di San Lorenzo. The day starts with a "free" walking tour lead by Camilla from Flora's Walk. She was very educational and made stops at the most important sights in Florence. I went with my mother and sister and we had a good time. After the 2-hour walking tour we had about 1-hour for picture-taking and/or lunch. It feels like such a short amount of time but this tour was a good introduction to Florence. It was about 1-1.5hours driving to Pisa after that. Overall, although it's only a one full day tour, it gave a good imtroduction and enough time to get pics and say we have been to both Florence and Pisa. I recommend this tour for people with a limited amount of time and would like to see 2 other Italian cities in one day. Pino was a good driver and Camilla was a good tour guide.

Fantastic day trip from Rome to Pisa and Florence. Very historic and beautiful day trip. Try the Bistecca Fiorentina at Caffe Italiano in Florence! Massimo the tour guide was very friendly and accommodating. Highly Recommend!

Our day tour booking was cancelled by the local tour operator with no explanation whatsoever. Viator wasn't even aware our trip had been cancelled! With only a few hours notification, we had no time to rebook and were disappointed we could not make the trip to Florence and Pisa. Buyer/Traveler beware!

Tour provider canceled at the time we were supposed to be picked up! Ruined our plans. We hopped a high speed train to Florence anyway and enjoyed the day. What kind of tour provider cancels at the very last minute like that? DO NOT recommend!

I would recommend but with a note of caution - NOT for the "faint of heart" After reading multiple reviews that the tour operator did not pick up guests, I reached out to them via the Viator App to confirm that we would be picked up at our hotel the day of the tour. I did not receive a reply, not once but twice, on two separate occasions. I resorted to contacting Viator who was very helpful in interceding. They were assured by the tour operator that I would be notified prior to the tour. That notification came at 11:30 PM the night before the 7:00 AM tour, well past my bedtime, saying we would be picked up at 7:45 AM. Great, we could squeeze in breakfast at the hotel, before the tour. Well, mid fork to mouth, an irate driver burst into the hotel dining room shouting in Italian, in front of all the guests, I do not know what, until the waitress interpreted that we needed to go. The driver continued to shout as we followed him to the waiting van. I pulled out the email indication a 7:45 pick up time, but that did not mollify him. The tour was off to a great start. The pick up time was not 7:45 AM, as the email said, but 6:45 AM. Needless to say we were not able to have our breakfast, but still had to pay for it. When I say this or is not for the "faint of heart", it is because I made the false assumption that we would be driven to Florence & Pisa in a coach bus, not in a van at 80-90 MPH tailgating up to 3-4 feet the cars in front of us and then nearly clipping the passed cars as we changed lanes. Remind you, the driver did not speak English, but one woman spoke Spanish so she was able to communicate enough to tell the driver that if he did not slow down, we were going to mutiny. I really did think, as did others in the van, that we were going to die that day....my heart was in my throat the entire trip. The tour was picked up by a local tour guide in Florence, who gave us a quick walk-by tour of the main highlights. Unfortunately, since it was Sunday we were not able to go into the Florence Duomo. Then, after some free time, we zoomed off to Pisa, where we did a self guided tour, then the longer return trip back to Rome. There was a quick stop both going and retuning to use the facilities and grab a snack. But, if you are squeamish with traveling at high speeds and dangerous driving conditions, this is NOT the tour for you !

The driver did not show up , we called Viator customer support in USA she also tried 3-4 times to contact the tour operator nothing happened she confirmed that the money will be refunded and today Viator send me a mail saying no refund as I missed the tour . This is simply injustice. I want my money refunded .

I would not recommend it! The driver was 35 minutes late, and the Italian Holidays (operator) never responded to our text when we inquired if they were coming. Once the driver appeared, he rushed and drove extremely fast and irrate. When we stopped on our way to Florence, my husband and three other people pulled the driver to the side and asked him to stop speeding and texting while driving. We also told him we wanted to arrive in Florence alive and not dead due to his carelessness. He apologized, and as soon as we hit the road, an hour later, he began speeding again. The trip to Pisa was disappointing; they only gave us an hour to visit the tower. This was not enough time to purchase tickets and make the line to go inside. Not sure why they offer this option to visit the tower if there is not enough time to visit the tower; an hour is not enough time. Very disappointed. Also I have video and pictures of the speedometer, driver texting while driving and tailing cars in front of him to move over so he can continue to speed. Waiting on Viator to respond and request the photos and video.

A fantastic day travelling to Pisa and Florence with Eugenio. It was extremely hot but Eugenio created a great experience for us with information, humour and plenty of fountain stops to refill our water bottles. A good amount of time was spent at both locations to do your own thing and meet back up with the group later in the day. We had a fantastic day all thanks to the guidance and entertainment of our wonderful guide Eugenio and great driver Claudio.

Our van broke down while we were in Pisa. I realize that was not avoidable, but the way it was handled was terrible! We were marched in the boiling hot sun for 45 minutes to the train station! We should have been offered a ride since there were only 7 of us! Then we waited some more in the heat for the train which was not direct to Rome. We then had to get off in Florence while our driver tried to decipher where and when we could get a train to Rome! Keep in mind, he did not speak English, so all communication had to be done via a translation app on his phone! We were supposed to leave Pisa at 3:00 pm. It took us at least 6 hours to arrive back in Rome sometime after 9:00 pm. The communication with this company was very poor. They did not respond to numerous texts beforehand regarding pickup at our Airbnb, leaving us to wonder if anyone would even show up! At the last minute they finally responded. In light of our experience, I respectfully request a refund of my payment which was in excess of $400 for myself and 2 granddaughters. Karen Lindsey
