Lake Como Day Trip from Milan with a Local Guide: Private & Personalized

Amazing tour with a knowledgeable guide. Marco was excellent every step of the way. Travel was organized and simple. Would highly recommend.

Definitely not as described. Paid $2800 for someone to escort us on public transportation. The guide offered zero information or any sense of a tour. The guide even sat down and ordered lunch and a bottle of wine and expected us to pay for his meal. He was absolutely inattentive to needs of water / restrooms. Again, did not provide one ounce of geographical/ historical data. Spent 6.5 hrs of 8 hrs on transportation with no guarantee of seats. Viator nor the tour operator cared or offered any kind of rebuttal. It’s an absolute waste of money/ fraud. For what they charge- you can arrange your own train tickets / ferry tickets, This is not your if your want information or a tour.

Confirmation Nº : 1529048103 Reservation Nº : 1143737811 Viator, another fraud on Service Delivery. I took a tour from Milan to Lake Como. They charged almost USD 900. They took me on a crappy train. Standing the whole way (1 hour). People eating even Burger King inside. People boards the train with a bicycle on board. Literally, VIATOR are white-collar thieves. I’m really disappointed in how and why you deceive people on the type and category of your tours and services. This is really a fact that must be solve and reimburse at least a part of the money. Again it’s not suitable to pay for a private and personal tour and the transportation for a one hour round trip on train it’s standing. The tour at Como was terrible as well instead of have time to walk and see the city we drop off the train walk to see two very low interest monuments to us instead of walking through the city and have fun over there. Then the tour guide don’t know the exact pier where we need to take the ship to Bennagio. When we arrive to Benaggio we take lunch and harry to take the ferry to Varenna, again instead of walk through the city and know more about that town. We arrive into Varenna early than it was expected and make a visit to a Villa/Museum that was far and very old. Nothing interesting, then going back to the pier location and instead of doing something else, he had NO initiative and interest and we loose one more time doing nothing till 30 minutes the train to Lecco departs. We went to the train station and just minutes away from boarding the train from Varenna to Lecco, we were told that the train was cancelled and that we would have to take three different buses to an intermediate town between Varenna and Lecco, and only in that intermediate town would we be able to catch the return train from Lecco to Milan. In the end, that never happened and we had to cross the lake from Varenna to Mennagio, from there take a bus from Menaggio to Como, and then take the train from Como to Milan. The tour guide was wrong, telling me that the bus from Mennagio to Como was at 7:15 PM, but the information given was wrong, as the bus was at 9:36 PM, which did not allow enough time to catch the last train from Como to Milan. This forced me to take a taxi from Mennagio to Como to catch one of the last trains from Como to Milan. That cost was €140. Who will reimburse me that money. You offer a first class service of schedule and tour guide and it was absolutely the opposite!!

This was a fantastic, comprehensive day of seeing our most desired locations around Lake Como. Reza was wonderful, accommodating our every request to the best of his ability. We caught the train from Center Station to Verenna, then a ferry to Bellagio. We had a delicious lunch on the water, shopped and went sight-seeing for as long or short as we desired. Bellagio was amazing. Following that, we went on a scenic ferry ride to Como, enjoying so many vistas and views of villas. In Como, we enjoyed a cable car trip to the top of the mountain. The cue lines were very long for the cable car, and unfortunately the haze dampened our view. But overall, we were extremely glad we booked this tour. Reza was so friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

Marco was such a perfect guide for me and my 7 year old daughter; attentive, communicative, fun, intelligent and energetic are some adjectives to describe him. He promptly picked us up at our accommodations in Milan and swiftly got us on the correct train and then ferry. He was filled with information even while on the train. We had our backpacks with us, which were quite large and he helped to bring them to our Airbnb in Bellagio first before heading over to Lenno. We had such a fantastic day with him; the eatery and the gelato place he brought us to were stellar. The vistas, landscapes and sites he planned for us to visit were all breathtaking. I cannot say enough about what a wise investment this was for the beginning of our tour of Northern Italy and Southern France. My daughter and I will cherish the moments forever. Hopefully one day we can go truffle hunting with him!
