We booked this trip online from home. These are small groups max 8. We were last picked up at the office so seated separately at first I thought that this might ve a problem but it wasn't. Nico our driver was excellent both in his commentary and his driving. We enjoyed all the stops but especially "On top of the World"

We had a fabulous tour east. Our driver collected us as arranged and drove with great expertise along the often narrow roads. He was very informative, not only about the places where we stopped, but also about nature and lifestyles along the way. He allowed plenty of time at stopping points and was always ready to answer questions.

Madeira Happy Tours are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable Company. When providing place and time for tour/walk pickup they provide a photo of the pickup point . which I found extremely helpful having never been to Madeira before. I also had to change the dates of my tours at short notice. This was accommadated very swiftly and with no problems and an an email confirming changes. The Tour/walk guides were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, happy, helpful and accommadating. I would highly reccomend this company for the above reasons and the also offer extremely good value for money. It's a fantastic way to see the Island and if I visit Madeira again I will definately use Madeira Happy Tours

"I can’t say enough good things about this Company and its guides. We first took the East tour with Luis and then took the West tour with Hugo. Both guides were thorough, informative , cautious and totally knowledgeable. We learned so much - hidden gems and items of interest that would be hard to find elsewhere. It was easy to tell that these men love their island and their jobs. You will learn and you will enjoy. It’s a great experience. Beyond that is something equally important. Driving madeira is a challenge. Their transport vans are clean and in outstanding mechanical condition. And both men were patient and cautious. So important on this island. Any question I had, they had an answer. This is money well spent. Enjoy"

After being on a north west tour, we booked a second for the east side. However, I would advise before booking, what the policy is on their tours. The night before I had severe sickness , with dizziness. The couple who were going wth us, reported it to the office and asked politely for another date for the tour. They were met with rudeness and nastiness . The following day ,I was told by their boss, that it wasn't their fault that I was sick and after much conversation he relented by telling me that my partner and myself could go for half price, which we paid and went on the tour. The moral of this story is, check before you book a tour with them as I have inquired with other tour operators and their policy is to move the tour to another date without any charge, return your fare if your partner goes on the tour, and if given 24 hours notice your money is refunded,

When we booked the tour at the lido, Estrada monumental, the great service started there with the friendly and helpful staff who arranged it for us and advised us of everything from the pick up times to the description of the mini bus, which was very luxurious We had a great experience with Hugo who took me and my sister in law, Annette, along with eight others on a comfortable mini bus tour on a day trip east of the island of Madeira Hugo started with the important information about the island and our trip when we picked up the last party Hugo chatted constantly on the way about all the history and advising us of all the interesting facts about the island and how Madeira functions along with all the stops we made and the places we were visiting, this was very unexpected as for some reason we really thought it was a drop off and help yourself to the views, we expected nothing more so an excellent service all round which we loved ❤️ Thank you so much for making our holiday such a memorable experience and being so helpful We will definitely book you for our next tour in 2024 xx

Great value for money, with excellent views of the island from various locations. We also did the Go West tour and the Nuns Valley half-day tour which were also very enjoyable.

I was really lucky to start exploring Madeira island, by choosing one full day tour with MADEIRA HAPPY TOURS (The East Tour). Our driver & guide Hugo, offered an ultimate experience, by providing knowledge to our small group about the island’s past and present. While he was driving safely to several beautiful destinations, a new and very well cared mini van, he was narrating about island’s history, flora and fauna, geography, economy, culture, civilization, heritage etc. He is a very well educated, professional guide with a sense of humor, who kept my interest live throughout the trip. The day’s program was very well designed, not at all tiring, or boring, giving me the time to see many interesting places and beautiful images. For me it was the best introduction to the island, which increased the value of my travel’s experience. Thank you Hugo for this amazing day and thank you Madeira Happy Tours and Mr Marco Ferreira for your excellent service, organization and communication. You made me happy!!!

If you book a tour with Madeira Happy, be sure to check to ensure that it will be operated with their own vehicle and guide. The Go East tour we signed-up for had been ‘sub-contracted’ to a private tour guide. The minibus turned up 20 minutes late, and was of a poor standard (unlike their advertised vehicles). The noise from aging suspension and loose and creaking fixtures in the rear of the bus made it almost impossible to hear anything else - including the dialogue from the guide. The guide was very brusque, and on two occasions was rude to my wife and I, when we asked for repeat of essential instructions, on pick up from the visit stops - even after we had explained we couldn’t hear from the back. The driving standard was very poor, with lots of hard braking, and some unacceptably high speeds throughout. Additionally, there was s missing headrest - which in our country is illegal, not to mention highly dangerous for the passenger. I have given stars here only because the tournament providers did make a sincere apology, when we complained, and I don’t believe this experience is indicative of their usual standard of service. However, I hope in future they will take more trouble to audit any subcontractors used to deliver their tours.

I enjoyed the tour of the East side of Madeira. Our first stop was the Miradouro do Pinaculo for a lovely view of the city of Funchal. One place I was able to cool off was in the Laurissilva (Laurel Forest), a forest with indigenous plants near Ribeiro Frio. I went for a short walk along the levada (water channel). We then visited a typical triangular house in Santana. This tour is a nice look at several diverse places on Madeira and I recommend it.
