Darwin Street Art

Austin Lane, West Lane and other areas: an unexpected surprise when wandering Darwin's city streets is the murals that adorn the walls of our laneways. Since 2017, the Darwin Street Art Festival has brought vibrancy and colour to the city's walls, with international, national and local artists contributing to the large-scale art gallery. We’ll have photo opportunities in Darwin's celebrated Austin Lane, home to giant street art paintings.

The Old Town Hall

On Christmas Eve 1974, after almost a century enduring tropical conditions and 64 air raids during World War II, Darwin's Town Hall literally started crumbling during Cyclone Tracy. The heritage building—erected 14 years after European settlers arrived in the region in 1869—was damaged beyond repair by the natural disaster, as was much of the city. Some of our tours will have photo opportunities at this heritage-listed site, a testament to the destructive power of the cyclone that destroyed much of Darwin.

Darwin Waterfront Precinct

This is a great place to find gourmet food and drink, not to mention that it’s set on a beautiful lagoon on Darwin Harbour. Our tour is constantly changing and we feature different establishments on different days of the week. Waterfront restaurants on our tour can include Wharf One, Hot Tamale, Snapper Rocks, Chow, and others. Weather permitting, we’ll dine outside with a view of the harbour.

Great food and not too much of it. Interesting commentary on the Darwin street art. A very pleasant evening.

Great tour. Darrel was very knowledgeable and interesting. Fabulous food and very plentiful so would advise to go very hungry. The restaurants were excellent and the cocktails were unusual and delicious. The street art was incredible and the augmented reality app was amazing - you would never know just by looking at the art yourself what you could really see! Highly recommend this tour.

Interesting concept, best wishes in ‘tightening up’ the timing etc. Reverse visits to the two properties so that you finish on a higher note. Add nice Australian morning tea.

Such a wonderful tour by a passionate foodie! We absolutely loved Darwin's street art and the restaurants we were taken to. Our guide Darrel was personable, well spoken and knowledgeable - highly recommended!

Absolutely fabulous way to spend 4 hours in Darwin. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and has a diverse background with first hand knowledge in everything from agriculture to energy extraction to the indigenous community. Our tour was shaped around our interests. We have been on many many cruise excursions and found our gourmet tour far superior in every way. Cruisers don't hesitate. Superb.

This was a really great tour. Terrific food at a number of different sit-down restaurants, plus really neat aboriginal street art, some of which did different things when viewed with a recommended free app. Our guide Darrell, who owns the company, was super friendly and knowledgeable.

Excellent excursion. Fine food & expert commentary. Michael was an engaging host. Every dish was exotic & flavorful. Even was treated to an adult beverage of choice. Do not miss this adventure.

Super fun! Great food! Interesting choices. We loved it all despite the rain. The street art with AR was a much fun as the restaurants. My only suggestion would be to add a bit more information about the food origins and how they are prepared. Darrel was a super host!

Lots of tasty food and a friendly group of people to share it with. The street art was amazing. Guide was excellent and organised everything very well.

My guide, Christine, understood exactly what I was interested in, and since I had a private tour, she was able to show me some art galleries and other shops, as well as the wall art murals. She is a gem! Food at first 2 restaurants was fabulous, but by the time we arrived at the 3rd, I was too full and too tired. I would recommend this tour 100%
