Our half-day historic walking tour with Alison Duncan was fantastic. She was the kind of guide we love - extremely knowledgeable, personable, insightful and fun! She squeezed so much into our 3.5 hours in Old Town. The tour was a highlight of our trip to Scotland.

Allison was an excellent guide; so knowledgeable, funny, and good natured. She answered all our questions, laughed at all our jokes, and left us with so many tidbits of information that enhanced the rest of our travels.

A huge THANK YOU to all at Edinburgh Guided Tour who worked with us in delivering tours to around 600 people over four days during March 2024. It was no small feat for Dave and Richard to organise this mammoth request! We had colleagues coming to Edinburgh from our offices all over the world, many who had never visited Scotland before. The guides provided a truly memorable and engaging experience for all attendees. We received so much wonderful feedback each week (including many beautiful photos and stories from the places they explored). Some even stated it was the highlight of their day and they wanted to move to Edinburgh! I cannot recommend Edinburgh Guided Tour enough for an exceptional experience of Edinburgh, delivered by the finest and most knowledgeable guides who are all so wonderful- engaging, informative and highly personable. Thank you again to Dave, Richard, Stuart, Alison, David F, Craig, John, Steuart, Peter, Neil, Martin, Emma, Keiran, Adrian, David W and Remmy. It was such a pleasure to work together! Do not hesitate to book onto a tour if you would like to explore Edinburgh with this exceptional experience!

My husband and I had a wonderful 2- half days of touring with Alison. We loved the background history, tales and hidden gems she bestowed upon us. She kept us entertained and awake on our day of arrival from the states. After the second tour we felt we had a good grasp of the lay of the city. She was lovely, considerate, professional and we loved Scottish baroque that was easy to understand but added to her stories!

Our group was composed of German, French, Greek, Spanish and British people and this review is based on comments made in different languages. From David, we learnt the Scots word dreich which was very appropriate for a wet and misty Edinburgh day lit up by a fascinating and detailed insight into the city’s history and architecture. David’s tour was delivered with passion and humour and was a thoroughly informative and entertaining introduction to the city. We particularly appreciated learning about Scotland’s strong historical connection with the rest of Europe and its contribution to the enlightenment. Highly recommended.

Our guide, Craig, was the best. Highly highly recommended. Personable, flexible, thoughtful, incredibly well-informed, and a genuine/deep history buff . . . . . exactly what we needed. And Craig adjusted all along out collective 7-hour journey. He was the best possible outcome!! Rob, Judy, and Maia
