We had a great tour even though it started on the most foggy day. Our tour guide Mark was on time right outside the cruise terminal. We had a nice small group about 12 which made it much more personal and we all were seated on the bus and given bottle water whenever we requested. Mark was knowledgeable and very relaxed. We enjoyed the Brittain War Memorial site and had fun at the beach at St Margaret’s Bay and put our hands into the water of the English Channel at the spot where many swimmers had made the journey from France to England. We had a quiet little stop at the chalk river in a quaint little part of the town. The rain and fog even lifted near the end of our tour but even though it was tricky to see the cliffs in the distance because of the weather we still had a wonderful day.

We had a great time on our tour with Mark. He was friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful. He has a wonderful sense of the area and had fun facts to share.

I took this tour to see the White Cliffs of Dover not a peak of a piece. This tour was a total waste of time!

Our Viking ship stopped in Dover and we booked this tour. We recommend you book it too. Matt met us at the cruise port in a comfortable, modern van. We then did a thoroughly enjoyable 4.5 hour tour of the area. Matt was knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about the area and its history. The Battle of Britain museum was an inspiring highlight. As Americans, we knew very little about the importance of this air battle or the bravery of the young men and women who fended off a better equipped and better trained invading force. The physical beauty of the area exceeded our expectations, and we recommend this tour for any cruise passengers who want a more intimate experience during a day in Dover. Thanks Matt!!

Excellent tour, much more varied and informative than anything Viking offered. Half-day tour included White Cliffs of Dover from above and beside (Shakespeare Beach), Battle of Britain Memorial, drive through and stops on outskirts of town (near a Martello Tower) and picturesque countryside. Matt was engaging and knowledgeable, providing both historical background and personal perspective to the sites and the area. Highly recommended.

Very thorough tour. Matt the guide was terrific. Saw everything that we wanted to see with great explanations. Close up views of the White Cliffs. Beautiful.

Great experience and guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Gave us enough time at our stops to explore. Thank you!

Terry_K

Matt was prompt and gave us a great tour of Dover. What a beautiful place! Lovely views and quaint historic buildings, a chalk river and Battle of Britain memorial. Got us back to the ship in plenty of time.

Our guide, Matt, who is a local, was extremely knowledgeable and took pride in showing us the sites. Pick up from the cruise terminal was on time, Matt was professional, yet personable. The Battle of Britain Memorial was amazing. Unfortunately we had a day of fog and could not see France and the cliffs were a little less than stunning, but nothing Matt could do about it, he gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for his knowledge, flexibility and professionalism.
