Great tour of some canals with enormous old warehouses down the side. Then out into the port to see enormous cruise ships, huge container ships, yachts, naval vessels, rigged ships and even a U-boat. The downsides were the poor directions to the place to collect the ticket (a man at the top of a ramp) and lack of any information in English or map so very hard to know where we were!

We got lucky with our timing as there were only 8 passengers on the barge so there was plenty of room to walk about the deck, at other times I saw these boats full of people! The captain’s commentary was funny, at least what I understood – note that it’s German-only. We were taken round the docks and got close some interesting vessels, as well as got great views of the notable buildings along the banks. The main attraction for me was getting very close to a giant container ship as it was being (un)loaded. It makes you think how large scale these operations go. Time and money well spent, would recommend to anyone interested to learn about the docks and the surrounding area.

Very informative! Since we were traveling in a small barge, it was possible - despite the flood - to drive into the Speicherstadt! That was great! Many thanks to "Popeye"!! ;-)

A one-hour harbor cruise in Hamburg's huge harbour. Started in Speicherstadt and then went past shipyards, container port and cruise ships. Skipper was very informative and funny.

Very enriching visit to the port of Hamburg. However, the meeting point for boarding is unclear. It was enough to mention that the access point is from the wooden bridge and specify the name of the company, that would have avoided stress and waste of time.

Also, aufpassen, was kassiert wird.
