William (Bill) was great! We really appreciated his honest take on the Charleston history, which differs in some respects from the official Charleston (slavery soft-peddling) party line. He is very, very knowledgeable. Even my revolutionary war history buff husband learned a lot!

Bill is the best guide ever. Learned so much. Casual pace and highly customized for the interests of our group. Would take it again

Everybody in my group cancelled last minute, I was asked if I could joined a later group, I said I couldn’t as I only had a few hours left to visit the city. They honored the tour for me only. Great information on the sites and the history of Charleston and South Carolina, even recommended me books when I asked for, -a friendly pleasant time I highly recommend!

OMG Bill was perhaps the best tour guide we have ever encountered! VERY knowledgable, personable, funny, fact-based, opinionated, and very engaging. You will absolutely not be bored on this tour and mat well be exhausted from all of the great information coming at you (a good thing!). We saw a lot of historic Charleston from a person with a very strong formal history background who was claerly passionate about the city.

Our guide, Bill is the sole owner and operator. He is a gifted speaker with a charismatic personality. His background as an author/educator is evident in his presentation . Because of him, the tour is a bargain at twice the price

Very insightful and knowledgeable guide. Would recommend if you want the real history of the city and like asking questions.

If you do a walking tour in Charleston, this is the one you want! Bill provided an extraordinarily engaging experience with his expert knowledge and humor. You're not just getting scripted information about the city and specific sites from someone who was "trained" to do so for a season. You receive broader historical context around why the city and information is relevant in the history of the United States, and how it translates to impacts we see today. We've done a lot of tours/museums throughout our travels, and this is easily the most memorable. Highly recommend!
