In its early days it was surrounded by many acres of orange groves and the windmill that pumped water for irrigation still stands on the property. Magnolia Inn Bed & Breakfast

The Magnolia Inn was built in 1926 at the height of the Florida boom as a residence for a wealthy gentleman from the Northeast. He not only owned the town newspaper at the time but was one of the founders and huge supporter of the First National Bank of Mount Dora. There is more to the story.
