We pass by the Norman castle - built as a royal palace by command of William the Conqueror (though he never got to stay there!). Like the cathedral, because of time constraints on our tour, we present you with the essential history of this impressive castle.. However, the full tours are quite fascinating - bookable with the castle guides (full schedule available in 2023 following an extensive refurbishment project).
