Riserva Naturale Valle dei Casali

The Valle dei Casali is a protected natural area located right inside the city of Rome. It takes its name from the historic Casali family who lived in the city in the 18th century This hilly plateau extends from Villa Pamphilj to the southern banks of the Tiber. connecting the city center to the coastal floodplains. In the past, the part of the valley that creeps into the urban fabric was used for agriculture and cattle breeding. However, despite the strong anthropization, even today the area maintains a natural condition characterized by luxuriant vegetation and a fauna mainly of birds. The system of villas and farmhouses in the area, developed starting from the late era, is articulated in this suggestive setting renaissance.

Villa York Gianicolo

Villa York is an eighteenth-century Roman villa immersed in the Valle dei Casali which creates a happy union between the suburban noble villa and the farm as a rare example of a "Roman vineyard". Note: The remaining time on the tour will be spent commuting between attractions and having free time.
