What to expect
Tempio Voltiano
The guided tour of Como starts from the lake, where you will admire two symbolic monuments of the city: the Volta Temple, dedicated to Alessandro Volta, inventor of the electric battery and the Monument to the Fallen of Terragni. From here you will take a cruise (duration: 1 hour) in the lower basin of Lake Como.
Cathedral of Como (Duomo)
At the end of the panoramic cruise you will return to Como to continue the guided walking tour of the historic center. The Duomo is a fundamental stage, where you will enter to admire the Renaissance works of art preserved here.
Broletto
Next to the Cathedral you will admire the architectural beauty of the "Broletto", a former municipal seat and public theater, famous for the sculptural decorations made by the Comacine masters.
Basilica di San Fedele
Among the religious buildings of Como we will also visit the oldest church in the city, already a pagan temple in Roman times.
Porta Torre
The Roman foundation of the city is easily understood from the thistle and decuman planimetry. The city is still surrounded on 3 sides by ancient walls, rebuilt in medieval times. The Porta Torre is one of the ancient entrances and is a civil architecture that is still very well preserved.
