What to expect
Cadman's Cottage
The tour begins with an introduction, acknowledgement to Country and an ochre activity. We then move to Bligh Barney Reserve (right next to the Cottage), where - using seasonal native flora and fauna - the tour focuses on natural resources and purposes/uses of plants such as lilly pilly, cabbage palm tree, casuarina, lamandra, braken fern, grevillia and Wollemi pine.
Argyle Cut
Learn about the importance of Earth Mother’s ochre (a natural paint), which exists in large clay pods on the wall of the Argyle Cut.
Dawes Point Park
Located under the harbour bridge with stunning harbour views, visitors learn the Aboriginal name and importance of this significant Aboriginal site.
Hickson Road Reserve
See an example of recent rock art and learn about traditional 'art galleries' of the Sydney region that are thousands of years old.
Sydney Harbour
Campbells Cove offers amazing views of Sydney Harbour. Here, the tour focuses on the Aboriginal saltwater lifestyle and the spiritual importance of the Aboriginal sites, such as the harbour, Opera House/ Bennelong Point and Circular Quay/Woccamagully.
