Fantastic zoo one of the best we have ever visited. Great for pushchair and wheelchair, lots of interesting animals to see all kept in amazing conditions! Lagos Zoo you do Portugal proud! Thanks for a fantastic day out!!

The zoo was brilliant. We didn’t know what to expect but was 10/10 experience. We are an adult couple but had so much fun and there were so many animals to see and so interactive. Could stroke all of the cute farm animals but also got to see some great creatures elsewhere! Cant recommend this zoo more to people in Lagos area, make the trip! Cheap ticket also.

The zoo is not state of the art so it appears a bit rough around the edges but the animals look well cared for and they had quite a few surprises for us along the way, like my new fave the Pygmy hippos! The zoo had made a real effort for Xmas, decorating the public areas which was nice. It only takes a couple of hours to go round so don’t plan to be there all day.

It was a huge disappointment. Very bad instructions in the Zoo’s map, but the worse was the conditions of the place, it feels like a abandoned zoo. Just felt very sorry for the animals… I won’t go again and I don’t recommend it.

Lots of fun for my monkey mad teens. Smaller than I expected, but still nicely laid out. Lots of shade for a hot day, plenty of seats to watch the animals or just to rest & enjoy the atmosphere. We enjoyed an icecream at the kiosk & bought the souvenir photo & a fridge magnet. An enjoyable few hours. We thought the penguin pool was a fabulous idea & although we did not take our swimmers, the shallow area was ideal to paddle over to the penguin viewing area.

Really good zoo, small but just about the right size, loads of different birds, different animals which I have now seen in person, lots of shade which was ideal as it was very hot, good cafe and shop, was quite busy on the day we went, only 1 small thing that I noticed, the sizes of some of the bird cages, should really be a bit higher and wider apart from that visit was a good day out.

We visited as a 6 - 4 adults, and 2 children ages 3 and 6. We all had a fab day. We love how close you can to the animals and marvelled at how they stay in their enclosures when there are such small barriers. It made it feel very natural. The pool at the end was lovely, very cold but refreshing after a hot day. Such a shame there were no penguins in their enclosure to swim next to but lovely nonetheless. A really lovely day out.

Positively surprised! The zoo have a lot of interesting birds, many free roaming like in a park. i.e. peacocks, swans and ducks and more exotic ones, and several types of monkeys on some islands in the park. It was not at all busy when we were there, so we had a lot of time sit and observe the animals from the areas you can enter to come close to them. You can pay to feed flamingos, ducks and turtles, which was fun. Be respectful to the animals, as you can get very close to them. If you do this is well worth the money. Good written info on the different species in English and Portuguese. The main downside is that we did not get to see the African penguins, as they were resting out of view.

The zoo is well organized and has a good variety, specially of birds. Was impressed with some species. The price is a little high and the photo price is too high. But what really ruined the visit was the food in the medusa bar. The ham sandwich that was not in good condition and made an alimentary intoxication, 3 days sick because there was no attention to the quality and conservation of the food inside the bar…
