All the ethnic and diverse food we got to eat was wonderful! The day was beautiful and we learned a lot of the historical facts about different cultures from our guide. I would highly recommend this tour especially if you LOVE food!

Highly recommend for couples or groups. It was an Incredible tour! Jannine was amazing. She wove a tapestry of interesting stories mixed with the history of the area. Plus, she took us to some of the coolest places to nosh in LA. We’d do it again.

One part food tour, one part history lesson, and one part sociology lesson. Great experience, highly recommend, and looking forward to our next Culinary Backstreet experience.

Perfect day out to explore the history and deliciousness of the city. Our guide Uly was friendly and knowledgable not just about the stops along the tour but the larger city, too!

There are many ways to explore and discover a destination. For anyone who loves food and appreciates the cultural connection and understanding it provides, Culinary Backstreets is the ideal way to engage with a place and its people. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and morsel of my LA culinary walk. I've been to LA a dozen times or more, but this tour opened my eyes to neighbourhoods, history, and flavours I had never seen before. The length of the tour and amount of walking was perfect. Long enough to be comprehensive and fulfilling, but not so long as to be exhausting. It was perfect. While I want to say there was too much food, I have to take responsibility for being a complete pig and overeating. Every stop provided a sweet or savoury delight and I didn't want to miss a single bite. So I ate too much. Thankfully, the walking helped offset my indulgence. Our guide, Ulysses, was an engaging and incredibly knowledgeable host. His deep understanding and reverence for LA was evident at every turn, as was his passion for the city's food scene. This is a marvellous experience that transcends mere food and manages to fill the body and mind with a true sense of place. Hugely recommended.

Great food sampling of LA Mexican, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese food offerings along with the history of the neighborhoods and how they transitioned. Tour is long but expensive especially for two people. I covered the same walk on my own and did not have the same experience at all. A tour with someone who knows the community and where to stop for delicacies leaves you with a very memorable LA experience.

Great tour of downtown LA. Our guide Ulysses was amazing - he had a great knowledge of not only the food, but also the history of the evolution of the neighbourhoods we walked through. Every food place we stopped was great, and I had the feeling that these were not pre-arranged transactional agreements, but were chosen for a reason. All-in-all, a great way to spend a morning discovering a part of LA we probably never would have visited on our own.
