This was a great tour to a beautiful island. Ilke our tour guide was excellent and very informative. Everything was as described. My only suggestion would be to recommend bringing a jacket as the wind and mist makes it cooler at the higher elevations. We enjoyed it very much!

Super day - so glad we didn’t drive ourselves - very difficult steep roads . Our tour guide was excellent and gave of himself the whole day . Johan was also an excellent driver . We visited places we would never have stopped at if we were on our own !

Let us start with the bad bit; my booking was made with Viator who failed to mention the need in their myriad reminders , for UK nationals at least, to bring your passport. They also stated that the start time was 9:30 when that was actually the time the ship left the port. Fortunately we were early so I had 16 minutes to; get a taxi back to my hotel, find our passports and return to port to be the last but 2 on the ferry. My advice would be to book with Getholiday direct, something I plan to do next year for a trip to La Palma. That’s especially because this was a perfect and comfortable day out. Timings were good and explanations clear, particularly the impact of altitude on the biosphere. The small size of the group, 16 iirc, made for relaxed and trouble free stops. The lunch stop was a real opportunity to sample local food and enjoyable for that. It’s certainly not haute cuisine and one dish of anything is enough. La Gomera did the rest, breathtaking scenery and some harsh unforgiving history borne out in the landscape and natures reclamation of it. Packing so much beauty and variety into a small space reminded me of Skye and the Faroe Islands in a completely different climatic context in the North Atlantic. If you love either of those I am sure you will love this. I did not get the chance to thank Basso at the end of the day so will do here especially for his patience during my Los Christianos Grand Prix

We found the booking a little difficult. We did not understand the reason for the different price levels between the two La Gomera trips. Securing the meeting place was a little difficult because our AirBnB accommodation only provided address details at the last moment. An earlier direct telephone link or more direct email link with Getholiday would have helped. On the day we were picked up exactly on time by Basso who was an excellent guide. All of the trip went exactly to plan. Basso’s knowledge about the La Gomera, the Canary Islands in general and amazing horticultural knowledge astonished us. He was also engaging and friendly. The minibus was a top of the line transport - very beneficial considering the hairpin bends on island roads. We had considered staying in La Gomera for a few days but in the end found that the day trip which covered most of the island was a better option.

The views was great. Basso - our guide - was full of humor, competent and tells interesting stories, especially about environment and plants. He took us to many view points and to nice restaurant with silbador :). He fulfilled our minor requests without any problems. His English was impeccable. We are very satisfied. La Gomera is a beautiful island with fascinating and varied scenery. Our guide was very knowledgeable particularly about the plants growing here. The length of the trip was perfect and well organised.

The driver was late both picking us up from the hotel and meeting the ferry on the way home. However, he was friendly and the vehicles at either end were clean and comfortable. Our guide on La Gomera (Elka) was very friendly and informative and took good care of us. Our stops were well timed to avoid clashing with large tour parties. The barraquito (Canarian coffee) in Sonia's is a must! The island is truly beautiful and very interesting. Our only problem was the restaurant at La Lagoon Grande where we stopped for lunch wasn't great. Infact one of out party found her lunch so unappetising she couldn't eat it. I would strongly recommend taking a packed lunch as this would've have made the day perfect.

It was a fantastic tour of Gomera. We learned a ton in a relaxing way. The views and scenery were spectacular and Basso was so friendly and knowledgeable. A great day away!

Basso was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We fully enjoyed every minute of this tour. Even though the weather started out hazy and foggy that day on La Gomera, the sun did come out eventually and we enjoyed some incredible views. The restaurant he took us to was absolutely fantastic. We had a great time and learned so much about the history, culture, traditions, and plants of the island! Highly recommend.
