This was a great third-party excursion. Our driver was courteous and on time. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful with our questions. The tour was informative and interesting. The drive to Berlin is long, but that's just part of the excursion.

Our guide, Gregor Berger was a a great guide giving us a thoughtfully broad perspective on the events that lead to the creation of the camp, the climate of the country and the camps operation. My daughter and I came away with a deeper understanding of the era and a heavy but grateful heart that we had taken the tour.

We had an amazing time with Ryan. He was extremely informative, candid and funny Scottish accent was great too:. At first we were concerned that he was not a native German but he is a true scholar and obviously knows from where he speaks! Our family of 6 2 adults and 4 children all agree that Ryan was our favorite guide throughout our vacation. We were on a Baltic cruise and had pre-determined that St. Petersburg would be our favorite city but alas, because of our amazing tour, Berlin turned out to be the favorite for everyone.

Excellent experience. We met up with Johnny and he is originally from the UK but had extensive knowledge about each of the places we visited as he has been doing this now for 7-8 years if I remember correctly. This great especially because we had 3 small children and it allowed us to go at our own pace throughout the day depending on how the kids did. We didn't realize at first that we would first be driven down by a non-English speaker but then when we got to Berlin Johnny joined us for the rest of the day until we drove back up to the port.

I was nervous about booking this trip since i had no phone that would work in Germany and would have no way to contact the tour company if there was a problem but everything went very smoothly. Our driver was ready and waiting when we disembarked and drove us to Sachsenhausen where we picked up our guide. Lorna was a native English speaker and very well-informed about what we were seeing. Her commentary was informative and interesting. After touring the concentration camp, we were driven to Berlin where we were given a choice of a full German meal or a sandwich which would allow more time for seeing the sights. We chose the sandwich and were taken to a local shop away from the tourist traffic. From there we toured the Holocaust Memorial and then went on to the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag,,the remnants of the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie. We had limited time to shop in a fancy chocolate shop but almost no opportunity to pick up a souvenir which was disappointing to some. . It was wonderful to have such a small group only 5 which made it easy to keep things moving. Other members of our family went on a motorcoach tour which took just as long as our tour and although they skipped Sachsenhusen they didn't see any more than we did in Berlin. Due to the distance from the port to Berlin, a lot of time was spent just riding in the van but the trip was still worth the effort. We would highly recommend this tour as the best way to make the most of your port of call in Germany.

We loved our trip to Berlin! Our guide Finn was fantastic, super knowledgable, and picked up on what our interests were, so he tailored the trip to our interests. Having a private guide through Sachsenhausen made the whole experience so much more real, and full of depth. Our driver Thomas was equally wonderful, timely, and he was able to handle a handicapped individual well. This was by far one of our most memorable excursions!
