Fantastic morning cycling from Barcelona up into the hills to the north of the city. Claudio picked us up from our accommodation in Gràcia and after a short drive to the outskirts, which gave us a chance to discuss the current status of the Vuelta and professional cycling in general, we parked. We provided the specs for our bikes previously and the Orba bikes supplied were excellent. After a short ride on a river path we hit the beach and rode the foreshore for about 20k, then to the hills. It was hot, so we only did two medium climbs - not too steep - then back to the beach for a healthy and tasty lunch before a short ride back to the van. The cycling was great. Good roads and once out of town very quiet. Claudio was an excellent host, making sure we were safe and waiting for us to catch him on the hills. He does longer tours to into the Catalan hills and along the coast if you are interested. We might be back when we have more time!

This was my third cycling tour with Claudio Montefusco. The first was 2019 with a group of 8 on a 9 day TransPyrenees tour. The second was a ride the day before with my wife (on an E bike) around Barcelona. She is not an experienced rider; Claudio was patient and took us on a course that kept her comfortable and confident.
The most recent was a solo with Claudio in the Montseny mountains outside of Barcelona. I was picked up from my Barcelona hotel and provided a nice Orbea road bike. Claudio set a comfortable pace. There were only a few cars on the chosen roads and beautiful scenery. The climb to Col Formic was steady and challenging and the Montseny climb was punchy. After the ride we had a nice hearty lunch. Claudio is friendly and knowledgeable and I would not hesitate to recommend Montefusco Cycling or ride with him again.

This was my fourth and fifth ride with Claudio in Barcelona, spanning the last three years. I consider Claudio a friend now, because that’s just how he treats you when you go on one of the magnificent rides that he hosts you on.
I’ve climbed Tibidabo twice with Claudio now, once post-Covid (he was very encouraging and accommodating regarding my after-effects) and once more a couple weeks ago.
Claudio is happy to go at the pace you’re comfortable with, and will customize a ride for you to make sure it is both challenging and enjoyable. He also makes sure your safety is a top priority.
The rides themselves are stunningly beautiful, and Claudio will give you all kinds of history and regional facts while you ride. His heart rate rarely goes above 120 so he’ll offer up some tour guide extras while you push your way up a long (but enjoyable) climb.
I did the Costa Brava ride last year, and it was magnificent. Beautiful coastline vistas and fun rollers of climbs and descents. Highly recommend!
Can’t say enough about what a great and reasonable service Claudio offers, don’t hesitate and book a ride with this gentleman and one of his excellent road bikes, you won’t regret it!

I booked the gravel version of this ride on Montefusco Cycling’s website, but originally found out about them on Trip Advisor, so wanted to post my review here.
Barcelona and the surrounding area is a great place for cycling, and this was a super fun and moderately challenging bike ride. Highly recommend reaching out to this company if you are an avid cyclist. They can cater the ride to your ability. Claudio, my guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and was able to determine the right pace for me early in the ride.
I also recommend choosing the lunch option. You will go to an awesome cycling-themed Italian restaurant.
I will 100% book another ride with them if I ever come back to Barcelona.
