The town of Penguin was a real nice area. Nice scenery and delicious bakery. I loved the chance to get up close to the kangaroos and be able to feed them at the wildlife park. It was the highlight of the tour. I’ll never forget it! Thank you to Sue, our tour guide. She gave us a GREAT day to remember.

We had the pleasure of joining Karen on her one year anniversary! What a great day in Tassie! The little town of Penguin is adorable! We got a nice overview of Tasmania and really enjoyed going to Wings Wildlife Park. Karen was a pleasure to work with during the booking process and a gracious hostess.

We were blessed to have a tour for just the two of us. Such personal attention, enough time at many stops for exploring and even shopping.

We had a fabulous day exploring Burnie and environs with Sue. She’s an enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide who was able to give us great insight into Tasmania. She was flexible and was happy to customize our day to allow us more time in places we were most interested in.

Nice driving through lovely places, a lot of interesting information (but could not hear well in the back of the minivan), best we could do with the few hours the cruise allowed us to be on land.

Very nice wildlife park. Interesting variety of animals, friendly kangaroos and wallabies, terrific time watching the devils fight over a feeding. Nice cafe to stop at for a snack.

We visited several wildlife parks throughout Australia and found Wings to be THE BEST. It is a very interactive park and the large staff are excellent at giving information about the various animals and birds who live there. Unlike many other parks, where you just walk around on your own to view, we found the animal keepers kept scheduled times where they would speak about the animals (their behaviors, what they ate, where they came from, etc) so that it was really educational and much more enjoyable. For older folks, they have lots of seating benches around so it is also a place that is easy to visit. While we did not participate in any "animal encounters" we watched many others do so, even with a Tasmanian Devil! There are lots of "baby animals and birds" including 5 adorable emu's! Highly recommended to spend at least half a day there. The ride to the park is drop-dead gorgeous through lots of green rolling hills! Going there by private car (vs cruise ship bus) is a must as you really get a better sense of the town and the surroundings. Don't miss booking with Tasmania Boutique Tours for an exceptional time.

Yesterday, we had a truly excellent day touring with Howard (Cradle Coast Tours). When we were picked up, we discovered that we were the only 2 on the tour. Rather than cancel due to small numbers, Howard provided us with a relaxed day that included a great commentary about the area, the places we saw, passed through and visited. He asked us questions about our lives, likes, previous working careers, our families and about the plans we still have. His personal attention and interest in us as 'people' not just 'paying tourists' made us feel like we were old friends catching up for a chat. We visited Gunns Plains Caves where we were greeted by Jeff. Trish then gave us a an interesting and informative tour of the Caves. The visit to Leven Canyon was another highlight. After the walk to the lookout, we were greeted with such beautiful scenery including the Leven River far below! Howard continued an educational commentary as we travelled from place to place. Information about the history of the area, the farming methods and crops grown and other points of interest helped us gain an understanding and 'feel' for this area. Howard is a great ambassador for tourism in the area. Thanks for a wonderful day!

Cradle Mountain is the most popular site visit out of Brunie but requires 7 hours roundtrip. Shorter tour options are limited. This operator and his assistant know the local area well and need to fine tune the tour logistics so they can share a number of closer sites worth visiting into a 4 hour window.
