We visited Liverpool football club earlier this season, as away fans we were unable to get tickets due to the minimal tickets allocated. We therefore decided to purchase hospitality tickets which were in excess of £300 each. Things were against us from the start as hotel prices on a match today in Liverpool can reach three times the cost when a match is not on, in addition, on the day we pre-booked a taxi to take us to the ground from town, like others in our hotel this never turned up so we decided to walk, we eventually met another couple who were also walking whose cab also didn’t turn up and they had just called an Uber. They let us join them and we sorted out the bill. We eventually got into the Shankly suite which was okay however you had to pay for drinks and to eat we got some Scouse, which to be fair I was very nice however and as an example at Manchester City you get a five course dining experience free drinks including champagne sandwiches at half-time, more free drinks and an hour after the match, yet more free drinks. And Manchester City is not alone, other venues where we have done hospitality are much the same price as Liverpool but offer so much more. There is little value for money and I doubt if we will be doing the Liverpool experience again, They need to step up
