Luss

Luss is a village in Argyll & Bute on the west side of Loch Lomond. It is within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Often regarded as one of the prettiest villages in Scotland being famous for its quaint slate cottages, decorative hanging baskets and breath taking views of Loch Lomond.

Located next to the Trossachs Woollen Mill you will have the opportunity to meet some coos and feed them, freshly made goodie bags are available in the store for purchase. Callander

The Highland Town of Callander the eastern gateway to the highlands. Spend time walking around the town visiting the small shops and sampling local produce and pick up a souvenir for your trip, a good point of the tour to stop for some lunch too. If a light lunch then there are plenty of local Cafes and Pubs to stop in while having a walk. At the Roman Camp Hotel the chefs use the best of Scottish produce to provide guests with delicious meals served in an award winning restaurant. The main dining rooms offer an elegant setting in which to enjoy our Scottish fare after a day's outdoor activities. The food is prepared under the supervision of the fabulous chef, Ian McNaught. The cosy bar has a selection of over 40 whiskies from all over Scotland as well as local craft ales. The Garden Bistro (yes it used to be a genuine potting shed) provides a relaxing atmosphere and is very popular both with visitors. Offering the best of Scottish food simply cooked in a garden setting it is open from 11.00am until 20.30pm. It serves coffee, tea, cakes and sandwiches all day as well as a full lunch and dinner.

Doune Castle

One of the finest Medieval Castle in Scotland Doune Castle was built around 1400 by Robert Stewart, 1st Duke of Albany, Earl of Menteith and Fife. A magnificent late 14th century courtyard castle Its most striking feature is the 100ft high gatehouse which includes the splendid Lord’s Hall with its musicians’ gallery, double fireplace and carved oak screen. You can hear the stories of the making of Monty Python and the Holy Grail which was also filmed at the castle.

Stirling

As you travel back toward Edinburgh you will pass Stiling the “Gateway to the Scottish Highlands”. The mighty Stirling Castle sits proudly keeping watch over the city. The reason why so many battles took place around here was in order to hold the strategic importance of Stirling, which overlooked the lowest bridging point across the River Forth.
