Chateau de Chambord

Chambord is the largest château in the Loire Valley; it was built to serve as a hunting lodge for Francis I, who maintained his royal residences at the Château de Blois and Amboise. The original design of the Château de Chambord is attributed, though with some doubt, to Domenico da Cortona; Leonardo da Vinci may also have been involved.

Admission Included

Chateau de Chenonceau

An architectural mixture of late Gothic and early Renaissance, Château de Chenonceau and its gardens are open to the public. Other than the Royal Palace of Versailles, it is the most visited château in France.

Working with LinkParis was seamless and made our trip so easy. The communication was excellent throughout the process. Our tour guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the chateaus were magical! The visit to the winemaker was a great stop in between the chateau visits and loved the wine varieties. Was celebrating a milestone birthday and this tour did not disappoint.

Would have enjoyed more commentary from guide. He just drove and only talked if we asked a question.

Actually I did not go on the trip. I booked it, my card was charged and I received an email confirming the trip. Then about 12 hours before I was to go, I got an email saying my booking was canceled. Apparently they are still in the early 20th century when it come to having computers keep track of bookings. Thus, I was not able to do a tour—it was too late to get another trip booked. They seem to think telling me they weren’t going to refund the cost my credit card was a big deal on their part and that made everything OK.

1) great guide "Audrey" was fantastic, full of knowledge and eager to share it. Totally enthusiastic about her work 2) great support. "Laura" stayed on top of everything. 3) the chateaux are fantastic. A beautiful piece of history not to be missed. 4) if you take the Plou y Fils wine tour and tasting - interesting and fun. (We bought a few bottles) Go!! You will enjoy!!

Great, but exhausting tour! There was a total group of 8 in our van and we were driven by Patrick, who was wonderful. Note that there is no guided tour inside the chateaus; they only drive you there. This was fine for us because we enjoyed exploring at our own pace. Also, there is no separate stop for lunch. We were told to grab food at the second chateau.

I loved this trip! I saw other day trips that gets you there on a bus that only allows you to visit 2 chateaux. It is so worth to pay the extra and take the speed train, which allowed us to see 4 castles. Chambord was my absolute favourite with Chenonceau being a very close second! It was a small group and nice guide!! Thank you! Reka from Canada
