Your Itinerary

East End

Meet your private guide at 10am or 2pm in east London, then head through the vibrant streets to begin your walking tour. Home to some of the capital’s most talented street artists, east London is alive with etchings, stencils and artwork in all styles and colors. Explore areas such as Brick Lane, Shoreditch, and Spitalfields Market, and gain insight into their transformation from working-class neighborhoods to trendy centers of fashion and art. Along the way, enjoy a cultural overview of London’s East End — from its troubled years under the control of the Kray Twins to today — and admire diverse street art by the likes of Shepard Fairey and Banksy. Learn of the origins of Cockney rhyming slang and the rise of hipsters in Shoreditch, stroll past bustling curry houses and stylish galleries, and soak up the atmosphere in this colorful corner of London. When your walking tour comes to an end, wave goodbye to your guide at Shoreditch High Street Station.

Petticoat Lane Market

After meeting your guide by Liverpool Street Station, you will make your way to Petticoat Lane Market, a world-famous market established over 400 years ago by the French Huguenots who sold petticoats and lace from the stalls. It is known today for selling mainly clothes for men, women and children.

Artillery Passage

You will then visit Artillery Passage, where you will be offered a glimpse into 17th Century London. Despite the modern urban changes made, the conservation area will offer you a view into narrow lanes, passages and courtyards, where you will get a rare snapshot of the historic inner city.

Old Spitalfields Market

Next you will explore Old Spitalfields Market, one of the finest surviving Victorian Market halls in London. Built in the 1800s, the market was refurbished in the early 2000s and is now one of the city’s most unique shopping, eating and drinking destinations with an array of boutique fashion, design and lifestyle stores and distinctive restaurants.

Whitechapel

Afterwards you will walk through Whitechapel, the location of the infamous Whitechapel Murders of Jack the Ripper in the late 1880s.

Brick Lane

You will then visit Brick Lane, a popular location in East London. Running from Bethnal Green through Spitalfields all the way to Whitechapel, the street is known for its breweries and markets whilst also the home to a striving artistic community. Walking along, you will be able to enjoy all the impressive street art around you.

High Street

You will also walk along Shoreditch High Street, the old main street of Shoreditch. The street provides a perfect base for visitors looking to check out trendy bars and authentic restaurants and always has vibrant atmosphere.

Brilliant tour, loads of information provided in an entertaining manner Thanks Ivo We really enjoyed your tour

rosalbam690

Very average experience with a tour guide that appeared to be more interested in talking about himself than the street art. Don't waste your money, book a different tour.

Deviating from the trip to visit 11 Elder Street to see my Great Grandfathers house. Tour guide was very well versed and gave us good lunch spot to eat upon completion of tour. thanks

Becky was an excellent guide. She knew the origins, development, meaning, and context of the street art and we got a good feel for the east end. She knew the history of the area and added a lot of details such as architecture and Jack the Ripper.

Jake was an amazing tour guide! We were lucky to only have a few people on this tour, so we were able to ask a lot of questions. He gave us so much more than an art tour! He’s a foodie, and a Londoner himself. We highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing tour with Becky around the East end. She gave us a history of the area to provide context to the street art that we were viewing. She was extremely knowledgeable and informative. We would highly recommend the tour. We plan on coming back to take another when we are in town. We know there will be new artists popping up.🤗 Heidi and Pippa

becky was a great tour guide she was really entertaining and motivated our kids 13 and 9 were really in to it they loved the tour becky was really kind, and showed us some nice restaurants on the way great tour the meeting point was right by the underground lovely tour we love becky:> from margaux (the nine year old) Now from the mom: This is an excellent tour. We've been to London many times, and can highly recommend this "off the beaten path" tour; it was great to experience something new. Becky was a great guide -- informative about the street art and the area, and a great storyteller too. It was a highlight of our trip, and we will look for other tours from Becky in the future!

Easy pick-up sight near the underground. Our guide, Becky, did a fantastic job of pointing out street art and her knowledge of the area's history made this a highlight of our time in London. We took many fascinating pictures and have great memories of the East End. Becky couldn't have been more personable, enthusiastic, and informative. We highly recommend this offbeat tour!

Great tour of the East End today with Becky. Learned so much about the area, the culture and of course the street art. Becky is an excellent guide, knowledgeable and friendly. The time passed so quickly, with a surprise on every corner. I have been on many walking tours in cities around the world and this is definitely one I recommend. Do something different next time you are in London and spend an afternoon with Becky learning about the East End and it’s eclectic history. On the practical side, wear good shoes, and at this time of year, wear a worm coat and take an umbrella. Overall - Very pleased will return to do another tour with Becky.
