This was such a fantastic experience from start to finish. We did the 1/2 day lower new river. Eric was extremely kind and accommodating and our guide Braiden was knowledgeable and was fantastic at helping us navigate the river. From start to finish we had a great time. I can’t recommend adventures on the gorge enough. If you have options to book adventures on the gorge is the way to go. The bus ride back and hanging with the guides was awesome while we were laughing and talking about our experience with our raft mates.

The New River White Water Rafting trip was fantastic! Our family of 5 adults rafted with one of the best guides on the river, Greg. The crew did a great job preparing us for a wonderful trip. Ark was very informative and funny on the bus ride. Patrick created a fantastic video that will allow us to remember this great experience. Highly Recommend Adventures on the Gorge! Huge Thank You to Greg for the great conversation and guiding us through the great rapids (keeping us safe), getting soaked and allowing us to fist bump Patrick multiple times. Hopefully we will be back next year!

We did a full day trip on the Lower New River, and Ark was our guide. Not only were the rapids so much fun (and getting to jump off that huge rock), but he was probably the best guide I’ve ever had on any type of guided outdoor adventure I’ve done so far. Not only was he funny, but his knowledge of the river and especially the history of the mining towns and the area and West Virginia in general was simply unmatched!!! So great to be in amazement of the rapids and the gorge AND the history as well while on the calmer parts of the river. Amazing and unforgettable experience.

Absolutely one of the best experiences of my life!! I totally recommend jumping off the rock as it was exhilarating! Aaron was the best guide and he created an epic whitewater experience, especially for this who had never rafted before!

We did the Family Lower New River trip and could not have had a better experience. We rafted as a family of 5 with 3 kids including a 10 year-old and 2 teenagers. There was a thorough safety briefing before going out on the water and I felt safe throughout the trip. We encountered a great mix of energizing rapids and calm waters where we could just float and take in the beauty all around us. The scenery was stunning but the people we encountered at Adventures on the Gorge made the experience truly special. We had the very best guide, Doug. I was a little outside of my comfort zone but Doug had a way of encouraging and guiding that inspired confidence. He knew the history and ecology of the area, which gave us a great opportunity to learn from someone who has spent a lifetime on the river. His extensive repertoire of good natured jokes kept everyone laughing. Amazing family memories!

If you’re close to the New River do this run, if you’re in WV do this run, if you’re on the eastern seaboard of the US work out how to get here and do this run. We’ve whitewater rafted in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and none of them were as much fun and well run as the Lower New River trip run by Adventures on the Gorge. Why, quite simply because this run will give you more moments of thrill than the runs we did in those other locations. Our leader Aaron succeeded in scaring my wife from going on the run during the bus ride to the start of the run, but then our guide, John Weekly, succeeded in getting her on the water. John was great at explaining what to expect ahead of each section of the rapids and where to go to if something went wrong - which never happened, but knowledge is power and Weekly delivered on all fronts as a guide in empowering my wife to have one her best days on the water ever. WV has to be the most under rated place to visit and we will be coming back as a family to experience all that it has to offer. Stay on site at AOTG as it is right in the heart of the park.

We had a great time rafting the lower new river. The gorge is beautiful! Our guide, Jared, shared a lot of history with us. The provided lunch was yummy. We felt safe but also had a lot of fun!

BEST place for New River Gorge activities! We stayed on property and took full advantage - we had all super positive experiences! For rafting John was our group leader and Lindsey was our raft guide. Both were very careful about individual and the group safety. Lindsey was awesome in ensuring everyone in our boat had a great experience and was also able to talk about features along the river. Our group also did the canopy zip line, adventure course, fishing excursion, and rock climbing. All of the excursions were well organized with professional and fun guides. It was great to be able to use one company for a vacation of fun!
