This your enlightened our prospective of our first president! Makes me appreciate what we have in our country

Ken was an exceptionally knowledgeable guide both with respect to the restoration of Mount Vernon, life at Mount Vernon and George Washington in particular. He provided a lot of interesting details about the restoration like how they determined the wallpaper used in various rooms in Washington’s time. He had lots of anecdotal stories about Washington and a few about Martha, all of which were interesting and provided us with a better understanding of our first president. His additional facts about some of the exhibits in the educational exhibits enhanced our understanding and enjoyment of them. In all, well worth having our own personal guide.

Three generations of my family, including my 12-year-old grandchildren, visited Washington, DC from Los Angeles, CA in July 2023. Our tour of Mount Vernon with Kenneth Roberts of Luxury Tours of Mount Vernon, was marvellous! There is so much to see at Mount Vernon. It was an enornous plantation! As you walk the grounds and look into the buildings, you understand viscerally that this was once a town-- a town populated and operated by enslaved people. Ken, who used to be a historian at Mount Vernon, provides an unforgettable experience. The day we went was hot and humid -- July!-- so it was very smart that we went early. After taking in a wealth of information, we all had lunch together at the lovely old Mount Vernon Inn, right on the premises. After lunch ,we visited the section of the plantation where the enslaved people were buried . It was very moving. Finally, we visited the brewery where George Washington made money making whiskey. It proved to be lucrative. The tour, with Ken as guide ,was unforgettable!

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour of Mount Vernon with Ken! He picked our group up promptly at our Alexandria hotel and was very informative even as we drove out to the estate. On site, he expertly guided us through the expansive site and mansion and even offered to take a photograph of our family there. He was very accommodating and patient with my mother who had to move more slowly. We all agreed that Ken went above and beyond to provide us with a great experience, and we learned so much about both Mount Vernon and the Alexandria area. I would highly recommend this tour.

You will have one of the best experiences on this tour. Ken picked us up on time, with a comfortable car for a pleasant drive to Mount Vernon. He made all of the arrangements. Kens' knowledge of history of the era is amazing. It can be very crowded with all the school kids on tour, Ken knew how to avoid the crowded areas and we didn't miss anything. Our time spent with Ken was exceptional. Nothing else we experienced came close.

This was the best way to tour Mt. Vernon! Ken is an encyclopedia of knowledge. He is engaging, even for 2 energetic 10 year old boys. I understand so much more about General Washington, Mt. Vernon, and events surrounding the Revolutionary War because of Ken. Ken is so easy to work with - prompt communications, prompt pickup, and a great lunch suggestion for Old Alexandria. Please make sure you get everything out of this historic site by engaging Ken for your trip.

My 16 y.o. son and I spent the afternoon with Ken at George Washington's Mount Vernon. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ken. He picked us up in his spotless SUV, drove us to Mount Vernon while pointing out highlights during our drive. Once we got there, Ken had everything perfectly planned and we learned so much during out tour. We would never have enjoyed the experience as much without Ken as our guide. He told us so many facts that we could not have known on our own. Ken know every tiny detail about Mount Vernon and told us so many interesting stories. He is such a nice man, and we would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to have a memorable visit to Mount Vernon and the surrounding area. he even gave us a wonderful map of the Old Alexandria when we were done and pointed out places for us to go and restaurants for us to enjoy after the tour.

Had a fantastic four hour personal tour of Mount Vernon with Luxury Tours! Ken was right on time picking us up! it was just my husband and myself, and it was so great to get our own tour guide and not have to wander aimlessly, figuring out what to see and where to. go. We learned so much about George Washington. I wish we could take Ken with us whenever we travel! If we decide to go back to DC, we'll definitely use Ken again!!

The one on one tour vs a self guided tour made all of the difference in getting the most out of the trip!

Prior communications were prompt and clear as well as reminders and place to meet. Ken was on time with large and clean vehicle. All tickets had been pre purchased by Ken so no time wasted . Very knowledgeable about the home, gardens and George Washington . The home and gardens are extremely interesting and brought to life by Ken. At the end of the tour we did a short driving tour of Alexandria which has a great look and feel. An enjoyable day .
