As my first solo trip, as expected I was very anxious and nervous. However, from start to finish the guide Carlos was friendly and welcoming. He was professional and made the trip the best experience. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. You can go at your own pace, and there's no pressure to keep up as there are regular breaks. At the top Carlos brought us all some of his mothers recipe tea and a snack bar to keep us all going, which was super nice. I will always remember this trip, massive thank you to Carlos

The walk is a good level of difficulty. Easy pick up and transport from hotel. Informative guide that makes sure everyone is safe. Really great views and worth the early start time.

What a brilliant & beautiful experience this sunrise hike is. We were picked up promptly from our hotel by Carlos. Once we arrived in the Carpark he took time to point out some of the constellations including the Milky Way. We then commenced our hour long hike to the top of the mountain. The views were stunning in the early dawn light. We stopped regularly so that those who were at the back could catch up & catch their breath before continuing. Once at the top, the views took my breath away. Completely stunning. This is a trip that will live long in my memory - & if that starts to fail I have lots of incredible photos to remind me. I’d recommend this trip to anyone & everyone!

We not only got to see the sun rise above the clouds, but got to experience seeing the whole Milky Way and every constellation before we started out trek! Our guide was patient and timed it perfectly - even for hikers not adjusted to the altitude!

The walk in the moonlight with a starry sky was simply awesome. The climb was a little bit tough if you are not used to exercise. We were in a lovely group of people with Carlos as our excellent guide. The views at sunrise were incredible and on the way back down we were able to see fantastic mountain ranges and valleys. Simply stunning. Don’t miss this tour.

Great guide, fantastic scenery. The walk from the drop off was 2 kilometres. Fabulous views and amazing sunrise. The guide had a supply of warm coats, as it is chilly at the top at 5am.

This was such a lovely sunrise hike! Carlos, our tour guide, picked us up in a timely manner and communicated promptly prior to pick up. Although the weather wasn’t too cooperative, we had the best time! Carlos helped us prepare and made us feel comfortable the whole time. We had great conversation and appreciated his passion for Madeira! The views were breathtaking - I would highly recommend!

What a fantastic experience! Starting in the darkness, witnessing the sunrise, then appreciating the daylight view of the Madeiran landscape on the way back down. Carlos, our guide, was informal but professional, and aware of the varied abilities of the people on his tour. Everyone is encouraged to walk at their own pace, with regular catch-up stops to make sure everyone is ok. Our group had several single females, and everyone was more than comfortable with Carlos, who is very family-oriented. Hot tea at the top was much appreciated! Do bear in mind that sunrise times vary slightly throughout the year, so the stated pick-up time will also vary - hopefully this clarifies another review that complained about the pick-up/drop-off time.

What about experience, must do when in Madeira. Our guide was very friendly and looked after us, when stopped multiple times while climbing, in the top the view was just amazing , and not many ppl there yet for sunrise m when we were going back lots of ppl were hiking up , but the sunrise was very special
