Kit was a fantastic host! We're new to Berlin (moved here from the USA a couple of months ago) and this tour was a great way to get acclimated to our local markets and modern German cuisine. We left the tour very full, inspired, and ready to explore more local food in Berlin!

Our culinary adventure began on a rainy December day in Berlin, and despite the overcast, the experience blossomed into a phenomenal personalized journey through German markets, food preparation and, of course, consumption of the result! We began our journey in a cozy coffee shop, where our hostess, Kit Schulte, told us about her passion for modern German cuisine, and asked us about our interests and preferences. We then visited several neighborhood shops and markets to acquire ingredients for our meal. Each one was chosen for its quality and uniqueness. We were welcomed into Kit’s charming and well-equipped home kitchen, where we prepared first our appetizer, and then our delicious meal and dessert under her expert yet relaxed direction. Kit was a lovely hostess who made us feel at home. This enjoyable and convivial tour is a must for food-lovers who also enjoy meal preparation and hanging out in the kitchen in a friendly atmosphere!

We absolutely loved our market and cooking experience with Kit. She took us through the markets, history, vendors, then back to her flat to prepare a seasonal 4 course menu. We're a group of 5 friends, 2 who are not cooks and they enjoyed it as well.

We really enjoyed the experience with Kit! She is super knowledgeable and the time flew by very quickly! Even though we have lived in Berlin for years and visited the same market lots of times, we learned so many new things during the tour and tried some products that we would have never even considered to pick ourselves. The cooking class made us feel like professional chefs and all the dishes turned out really tasty! We enjoyed both pleasant conversation and tasty food, and can totally recommend this experience to everyone!

The two of us had lived in Berlins as students over 50 years ago so we wanted to experience new Berlin in a very different way. This market tour and cooking experience more than fit the bill. Kit was a lovely host, and she guided us through the local market as we picked out seasonal produce. The menu was impromptu, based on what was fresh and available. She suggested that we make fresh stuffed cabbage rolls, potatoes, carrot greens for a dip, ripe plums for a cake, fresh bread from her favorite bakery, ground beef and sausage, as well as cheese and wine. It was delightful! We chopped and chatted, spent time reminiscing about our previous experiences (ours in Germany, hers in the US), and ate a wonderful meal together. Kit is open and so welcoming. We highly recommend this enjoyable and delicious experience. Thank you so much, Kit!

This was an experience unlike any cooking class we've done before. First, we were a small group. Max 4 people. We had a menu and shopping list, but also went off list and bought additional seasonal fruits and veggies that you only find in a German farmer's market. We also stopped into some artisanal shops for local chocolate, bread, and wine. And then we started cooking which was a collaborative event, switching up partners, interesting conversations and breaks in between to eat and drink our creations. What I loved most was that it was a true sensory experience. We took time to look at, touch, taste, smell, and even listen to the food as it cooked. Time flew by, we were full, and we made new friends in the process. Thank you Kit!

I highly recommend Kit's class. My wife I I very much enjoyed the "beginning to end" experience, starting with a very relaxed and enjoyable shop at the nearby market. Note there's an early start on purpose - it means that one can enjoy a leisurely wander around, without queues and all the bustle that comes later. Kit made us feel welcome too by giving us some choice in what we would buy and cook. (By the way, her English is near native level so no concerns on that front.) We also discovered a few shops on the way back to Kit's apartment, great places to know that we have already been back to. The class itself is 100% hands on - no time taken up with the instructor taking control of the prep. Just a relaxed but organised couple of hours, with only three of us in the lcass. All accompanied by wine and cheese and friendly chat. Needlesstosay, great food was the result - but all dishes and techniques that are easy to repeat at home.

Kit, bubbling with enthusiasm, took us on shopping expedition starting at a neighborhood marketing, then a bakery, cheese shop and wine store, all focusing on local ingredients. Back at her lovely apartment, my husband and I cooked a four course lunch meal learning about new German culinary styles and picking up preparation tips. It was a fantastic way to spend time in Berlin and learn more about German culture from a food perspective. Prost, Kit!

My husband and I joined another two travelers for a fun, informative and delicious day with Kit. Starting in her local market, we chose all of the fresh ingredients for our meal while learning about the neighborhood and the local produce. We also visited a local wine shop and made our selections before taking a short walk to her lovely apartment where we shared the responsibility for preparing a delicious and authentic German meal. We loved experiencing Berlin this way!

First off Kit was an amazing host and incredibly easy to get along with. The tour of the market was great and at a great pace. We had a chance to stop by stalls we found interesting while also working with some of her preferred vendors. On the walk home, we learned a bit about the area and even a little taste of urban foraging. Kit's kitchen is great and feels like you are cooking at home. My wife and I enjoyed this class and I have already recommended this to multiple people visiting Berlin in months to come.
