What to expect
Placa Catalunya
This place can be considered "strategic" since it unites the two historical parts of the city, the Old Town and the 19th century Extention, designed with references to masonic values. The Catalonia square itself is also full of veiled symbols.
Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic)
Here we will stroll through the picturesque narrow streets of medieval Barcelona and explore the rests of the Roman wall, the place of foundation of the city, the Cathedral and the romanesque Saint Lucia chapel among other historical sites. There we will find plenty of symbols of the medieval Operative masons (Stonemasons) as well as the additions of the more recent Speculative Masons. We will discover the meaning of those misterios signs on the buildings and learn about the acient wisdom of our ancestors, that has always been closely studied and used by the masons. On the way we will find some traces of Knights Templar, who are also considered one of possible predecessors of the modern Freemasonry.
El Born / La Ribera
Discover the most loved church of the city - Santa Maria del Mar, the stories of the guilds, a masonic restaurant and varios masonic symbols in the area.
Gran Lago del Parque de la Ciudadela
Find out what is the connection of famous Antoni Gaudi with the freemasonry and learn about a number of important Catalan and Spanish masons: politicians, architects, writers and even governors. All that while enjoying a pleasant stroll through the most beautiful park of the city!
Biblioteca Publica Arus
This public library was founded by a mason and contains the most important collection of books on freemasonry in Europe. Find out how this explicitly masonic establishment got through the persecutions and remains untouched to the present day. This visit is NOT avaliable on the weekends.
Eixample
Eixample was a grand project of extention of the city. It was designed by Ildefons Cerda, a person who was most probably a freemason. We will uncover the proofs of that and let you in on his plan!
Passeig de Gracia
At the end of our tour with the permission of the masons themselves you will be invited to a real funcioning Lodge, where you can recieve first-hand information about the subject, straigth from a member of the Lodge. Please mind you that depending on the activities of the Lodge this visit can be excluded. In such case you will be informed in advance after booking the tour and will be able to cancel it or change the date, if this visit is essential for you. It is also NOT avaliable on Sundays.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
