Wirra Wirra Vineyards

The ironstone cellars of Wirra Wirra house a history rich in mischief, adventure and dedication to creating great wines. The winery was built in 1894 by an eccentric former state cricketer, who absconded to McLaren Vale after embarrassing his family one too many times. It was re-built in the late 1960's by a visionary who dreamt of returning Wirra Wirra to its former glory. Greg Trott did more than that, he created a legacy of being dedicated to your craft while being equally serious about having fun and enjoying life.

McLaren Vale is not to be missed if you like wine and are visiting Adelaide! The tour was purposeful but leisurely. We did three tours with CP while in Adelaide-- a worthy, competent tour operator!

We were disappointed as after we booked the trip we noticed that the charge was in English pounds when it was confirmed to us. When we asked about lunch we were told it was not included when the heading said it was but when you scroll further down it is crossed off. It is a good tour but seems very expensive for 4 wine tastings and no lunch included. Driver Simone was lovely

We were the only couple on the tour and were impressed that CP Tours and Charters ran the tour just for us. Symone took us to an interesting variety of wineries for tasting in the beautiful McLaren Vale. The wineries were near each other so we didn’t spend any extra time in the van. Our lunch at The Salopian Inn was a real treat. A nice way to taste great wine and leave the driving to someone else.
