Really enjoyed this trip and Mickalee was a great guide, cheerful and informative. We had a beautiful day and the full trip was very enjoyable. The driver who picked us up was local and happy to answer questions.Mickalee took us on the river and was very excited that we were able to enjoy great conditions. Her sense of delight was infectious and added greatly to our experience. Overall it was a lovely experience and the highlight for us was the waterfall which is on the way to the glacier. Highly recommend this trip.

It was an amazing day! Our guide Lenora was very nice and allowed us to explore while still keeping it on track. Very beautiful waterfall along with the glacier. The salmon bake was delicious.

We we a little leery about kayaking but Courtney allayed our fears. Courtney was always on the lookout for all participants. She was happy about sharing and answering questions. It was a great time, surprisingly doable and just a beautiful day all around. Great experience. Would do again!

We loved everything about this excursion. It was well organized and absolutely beautiful! Our guide, Mackailee, was the sweetest! She went out of her way to take pictures of us in front of the glacier. She was patient, informative, and helpful. We wish we would have insisted on using the rain gear provided. We got much wetter than we had anticipated. The Gold Creek Salmon Bake was outstanding! The food and venue were off the charts!!

The kayaking was great. Views of the glacier and waterfall are fantastic. The equipment was in good condition. They are tandem kayaks. They don’t allow you to get close to the glacier but we were by the icebergs that float out. The salmon bake was okay but it is a long ride to the site.

We booked the Mendenhall Lake Kayak & Salmon Bake - for two for USD 632.70. The tour was advertised as “Be one of the lucky few to experience the majestic Mendenhall Glacier up close, as you travel by kayak, under a very limited U.S. Forest Service permit.“ Now here‘s what we got: a 2 hour group paddling. When we started nearing the glacier and the excitment going up we were told we can’t get any closer since they do NOT have a permit for that. At the same time a group in a canoe passed us and went up to the glacier. We were told they have a different permit. The picture in the advertisment implied we would go to the tip of the glacier paddling along the ice. Nothing of that happened. One may as well opt for the Glacier View Sea Kayaking at half the price. We did 3 tours on our trip (salmon fishing, river rafting and Whale watching). This was the most disappointing, the shortest and yet the most expensive one. Furthermore, albeit the Mendenhall is a big or the biggest glacier, the tip throwing into the lake is quite small. You’ll see much bigger glaciers and much closer from your cruiseship in Glacier Bay. Also the salmon bake is not worth the price. A fast food paced simple buffet with salmon from the grill. You’re better off going to the restaurant or enjoy the buffet on your cruiseship that always serves salmon in Alaska for free.

Trent and Nick were awesome tour guys. They gave great instructions on how to put on our outfit and how to use the Kayak. They were very knowledgeable of the glacier and the surrounding area. They gave us plenty of breaks to rest our arms and take great pictures. This was my favorite excursion I have done. Thank you Nick and Trent for an awesome experience. The Salmon bake was amazing too! You get greated right off the van with a cup of clam chowder soup and the Salmon fresh off the fire with this amazing glaze. They have an beautiful waterfall to see has well.
