There are so many fascinating places to see in Florence, the city where the Renaissance was born, and on this tour with a local child-friendly guide we have made sure you and your children will have the best possible experience discovering all the wonders that Florence has to offer in a fun and entertaining way! The meeting point will be in Piazza Santa Croce near Santa Croce church, where Michelangelo's tomb is situated.
Ponte Vecchio
Then you will start your walking tour in the city centre and the first stop will be Ponte Vecchio. Have your camera ready when you get to this point because the view over Florence's surrounding hills is breathtaking!
Piazza della Signoria
After that you will arrive at the political centre of Florence, Piazza della Signoria, with the amazing Loggia where you can admire the famous statues in marble and bronze made by Florentine artists from the 16th century. From here you can also see the Uffizi Gallery, one of the world's top rated galleries that used to be the seat of the Florentine Guilds, and the majesty of Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's town hall.
Piazza del Duomo
Next stop will be the amazing Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, or as the locals know it, The Duomo (cathedral), the first of its kind in terms of dimension and structure, and a symbol of the Renaissance in Florence. The dome was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and it is a major architectural masterpiece which was way ahead of its time. Led by our guide, you will learn some of the history and interesting facts about the cathedral.
Galleria dell'Accademia
Finally, your skip-the-line access tickets will allow you avoid entry lines to the Accademia Gallery, maximizing your visit to Michelangelo’s magnificent statue of David. Please note this outdoor sightseeing tour requires lots of energy for walking. And since kids, and adults too, can get very tired from being on their feet all day, we suggest this tour happen at the beginning of your holiday in Florence. Also, we suggest making it your only tour of the day. During the tour there will be a free gelato tasting!
