The trip will start at the Old Town in Funchal city, one of the most visited places by tourists, covered with fun stories, and curious facts throughout.
Paroquia de Nossa Senhora do Monte
Going towards the mountains, all the way up to Monte city. Prepare to be mesmerized with all the lovely plants, and one of the most visited churches on the island, Monte´s church. August 15th is when the day of Lady of Monte is celebrated and is the most important and most attended feast in Madeira Island. All of these fun facts and so many more will be explained to the clients by an expert driver/ storyteller.

Monte Palace Madeira
The next stop will reveal one of the biggest attractions of Monte, the Monte Palace Madeira. This is one of the most visited, and adored places in the city of Funchal because of its immense and fascinating garden. A stop of one hour and a half will be made here, to take photos, enjoy the space, and why not enjoy a cup of coffee at the “Greenhouse Coffee Roaster”. This special place is not only known for its great variety of plants but also by its central lake that houses swans and ducks, some peacocks and chickens can also be found in the main areas of the property. So, be quick to take some lovely and creative shots. Inside the park, there is also the possibility to be acquainted with the museum, The Monte Palace Madeira Museum. A space that has three floors, two dedicated to sculptures amongst others, and the third is where you will find a compilation of unique minerals.

Associação dos Carreiros do Monte
The tour will come to an end at the famous Monte Toboggan, one of the most legendary charms on the island. This attraction dates back to the 1850s. In the 19th century, it was a typical means of transportation to go from Monte to Funchal city by the locals. Today is a mere attraction and anyone can enjoy a thrilling ride going down the hill. A tour that promises to reveal the most wonderful sites on the island of Madeira.
