Itinerary: The tour starts at picking point or hotel pickup. Then stop at the Poiso area about 1400m ~4600ft. Along the whole trip you will able to see the amazing views of Madeira Mountains and sea from south to north. After finishing the first smooth descent part we will encounter at about 800m ~2600ft a single flat trail, into the ancient Laurel forest, and after some more 45 min, we stop for a quick lunch( not included) in a very typical local restaurant, or you can bring your own snack and join with the rest. from here were will follow some of the levadas trail towards Camacha where we end the tour. Length: ~4-5 hours Distance: Approx. ~30Km

This was a great ride with magnificent views. Rosbert is an excellent guide and instructor for beginners. Nice stop at a local cafe/restaurent. The tuna sandwiches were very yummie!. Also nice with optional paths at a few places to make it harder/easier depending on your level.

It was fantastic! Not only was the biking exciting going from the mountains at 1400 meters down to sea level but the variety of terrain and scenery was spectacular. Rosbert’s in-depth knowledge of the forests, the environment and regional history was very impressive and added a whole other dimension to the tour. We will definitely join Ros again for another adventure next time we’re in Madeira!

Our guide Ros was very knowledgable on the local flora & fauna & history of Maderia. He took us to a small local restaurent for a traditional lunch which we loved. We had no experience of mountain biking although we both cycle a lot where we live. Overall it was a very enjoyable & exciting expience.

We are a couple with a bit different biking background so we were happy to connect with Rosbert at Lizardcycles. He really made sure he understood what kind of biking tour we wanted, and our skill levels, to arrange a great experience for both of us. The route he chose was perfect for us, and during the day he shared so much of his knowledge about the nature and history of Madeira. He has explored so many trails on the island that I trust he could arrange biking tours on any level, and with good variation too if you want to go on several tours. We only stayed for a week this time, but will definitely get in contact with Rosbert if and when we go to Madeira again, and I warmly recommend you to do the same!

An dieser Stelle mal ein großes Dankeschön an Rosbert den Tourguide. Wir haben uns gerade die Fotos vom Frühjahrstrip nach Madeira angeschaut und haben unsere Mountainbiketourfotos betrachtet. Es war eine entspannte aber trotzdem aufregende Tour mit E-Mountainbikes durch die pure Natur und andere Hotspots der Insel. Wir sind immer noch ganz begeistert von den vielen verschiedenen Eindrücken welche die Insel bietet. Der Guide ist auf alle Wünsche eingegangen und war sehr engagiert uns das Beste zu bieten. Als kleines Dankeschön haben wir ihm ein paar Worte Deutsch beigebracht und werden das Erlernte bei unserem geplanten Dezemberaufenthalt (natürlich wieder mit Mountainbiketour) testen ;-) Kurzum Sehr empfehlenswert
